The Director of Operations develops long term operational strategies to meet company goals and objectives. This individual will oversee the division business processes, financials, and lead project teams to the successful execution of electrical installations.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible and accountable for the division P&L. Monitor, update, and maintain all division financials to meet company goals.
- Establish and maintain division overhead budget while managing talent needs for growth.
- Financial planning/budgeting/projections for each fiscal year.
- Comfortable with making key division business decisions.
- Act as the primary licensing qualifying agent for the company. It will be expected that you hold multiple different states of Master Electrician/Unlimited Electrical Contractors Licenses within the Southeast as the primary but also strategic states as needed.
- Manage and mentor a team of Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and field supervisors.
- Plan and allocate division resources to meet the demands of project requirements.
- Continual Strategic growth planning and updates to leadership as market and opportunities evolve.
- Establish and maintain key industry vendor relationships/partners.
- Negotiate labor agreements and rates with labor staffing agencies.
- Implement and enforce best practices for project management processes and division continuous improvement goals.
- Review all estimates for accuracy and conformance prior to submitting to the client.
- Maintain relationships with internal and external customers to build trust and confidence to allow consistent opportunities and growth.
- Proficient with Accubid (electrical estimating software)
- Familiarity with the National Electrical code (NEC)
- Subject matter expert in technical electrical and/or controls installations (field background a plus)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of varying management roles in the electrical contracting industry.
- Demonstrated experience managing project financials on multiple large projects and/or previous experience managing a P&L.
- Design Build Experience
- Ability to work in fast paced work environment
- Ability to plan and strategize effectively
- Ability to make decisions in a timely manner
- Experience with construction technology tools such as but not limited to:
- Accubid estimating software
- Procore
- Bluebeam
Preferred Qualifications:
- Food & Beverage Construction experience
- Commercial Construction experience
- Process Power & Controls Experience
- Holds existing or can hold Unlimited Electrical Contractors License / Masters license in multiple states across the Southeast/Country as needed
- Degree in Electrical engineering or associated degree
