Position Summary

The Director of Energy Storage Manufacturing and Supply Chain leads and tracks the energy storage industry's progress in building a domestic manufacturing base and reliable supply chain. In collaboration with policy and regulatory colleagues, the Director works with member companies to scale and deploy battery storage technology. The Director helps support SEIA's advocacy efforts on policies that impact the energy storage systems supply chain, critical minerals supply chain, energy storage manufacturing and technology, and trade.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

* Develop policies and implement programs to support the establishment and growth of domestic energy storage manufacturing and reliable supply chains, including those related to critical minerals mining and processing

* Research and draft reports and other materials to support SEIA's advocacy and communications related to market conditions, domestic manufacturing, and supply chains for use by the SVP in preparation for meetings, speaking engagements, other events, and members and public consumption

* Manage and grow relationships with trading partners, associations, think tanks, advocacy organizations, and other stakeholders involved in energy storage manufacturing and supply chain

* Engage and coordinate with member companies, industry experts, and U.S. government officials to ensure SEIA has a holistic and current understanding of energy storage market conditions

* Produce policy analysis to support SEIA's advocacy in a rapidly changing policy environment.

* Present at member meetings, webinars, and conferences

Requirements

Professional Experience, Education & Other Qualifications

* A bachelor's degree

* 5-7+ years of work experience related to energy storage, battery storage technology, battery storage/manufacturing and deployment, or battery supply chains

* Strong conceptual, quantitative, and qualitative analytical skills

* Excellent oral communication, writing, and editing skills, including attention to detail

* Ability to work directly with SEIA members, with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

* Experience with relevant software, including spreadsheets, databases, and presentations

* Strong time management skills, including the ability to respond quickly to news and events and efficiently manage multiple time-sensitive priorities

* The ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team environment

* Professional public speaking skills

Working Conditions

* This position is based in headquarters in Washington, DC.

* SEIA employees in the Washington, D.C. region follow a hybrid remote and in-person office model. Employees work 3 days a week in an office environment and as needed when there are special events or meetings, but otherwise, they can be remote.

* Travel is required for this role.

* Frequent speaking engagements

Compensation Range

$115,000-$125,000 annually, based on experience and an excellent benefits?package.
