Position: Director of Engineering

A Medical Device client is looking for a Director of Engineering to join their team at their Stamford, CT facility. My client is known for their development of novel technology targeted towards corneal correction and correcting vision errors in healthy eyes.
The Director of Engineering would be responsible for the system integration of various components within the novel technology as well as leading the design efforts for the internal architecture of the console.
Responsibilities:
- Lead design efforts of integrated interface console with consideration to reliability, serviceability and compatibility with the medical environment.
- Design and lead the adaptation of existing and new control software.
- Lead documentation efforts in FMEA of designs and procedures.
- Oversee and contribute to the design of testing and documentation of various assembly tooling and procedures.
- Oversee verification and qualification procedures of manufacturing systems.
- Develop a continuous improvement plan that incorporates feedback from physicians and clinical results to improve the performance and reliability of the technology.
Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in the Medical Device industry.
- Strong technical contributor with deep experience and knowledge of engineering and regulatory frameworks of medical device development.
- Experience leading and managing teams.
