The Director of Engineering has overall responsibility for building and plant maintenance and protection, Guest and Associate satisfaction and financial performance of the department.

**Essential job functions:**
+ Direct all maintenance operations for the hotel including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, preventive maintenance, hotel rooms, meetings spaces, restaurant, kitchens and equipment
+ Supervise staff including hiring, termination, discipline, development and evaluations
+ Lead and manage the day to day activities of the Maintenance department and ensure all standards are followed
+ Oversee ongoing maintenance, repair and preventative maintenance in the Resort with a focus to improve efficiency, profitability and service levels
+ Co-ordinate renovation and capital projects, managing outside contractors as required
+ Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget, monitor of the Budget on a monthly basis; complete P&L responsibility for the department and assist in the preparation of the capital plan
+ Establish and fine tune a complete preventive maintenance program for Guest Rooms and equipment. Incorporation of the program into a facilities management software package, which tracks the work order system and scheduled maintenance needs
+ Follow purchasing procedures for all inventory needs and maintain the required physical inventory pursuant to the maintenance program and unanticipated emergencies
+ Ensure the Resort complies with all government regulations pertaining to building code requirements, health, fire and life safety programs
+ Review ongoing service contracts ensuring superior performance and competitive pricing
+ Monitoring energy and water management programs to ensure cost effective use of utilities
+ Balance operational, administrative and Members/Guest needs
+ Perform all other duties as assigned.
**Required Skills/Abilities:**
+ 4 years of experience as a Director of Engineering is required
+ Prior hotel experience is highly preferred
+ A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is preferred
+ Must have a valid Driver's License
+ Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
+ Must be flexible enough to work any shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
