Position Summary: The Director of Engineering will oversee product engineering operations and ensure that proper engineering procedures are followed. Primary Responsibilities:
- Plans and coordinates the work of engineering staff.
- Oversees engineering staff and ensures that they meet goals and objectives.
- Recruits additional engineering staff as needed.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Provides training and mentoring as needed.
- Consults with Sr, Director of Operations, Director of PDD and NPDD to create long-range operating and manufacturing goals specific to the needs of the organization.
- Manages the engineering operations at all locations within NISCO.
- Oversees progress and timeliness of projects.
- Reviews project reports to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- All personnel are responsible for conformity to product requirements and has the authority to stop production to correct quality problems.
- Development of control and monitoring strategies for special characteristics of products and production processes
Education and Qualifications:
- 10 plus years' experience in an Engineering role.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Engineering from four-year college or university required.
- Knowledge of rubber extrusion and mixing desired.
- Experience with Problem solving tools (5 Why, DMAIC, etc.)
- Able to show strong interpersonal skills including developing a rapport with ease.
- Initiative-taking and execution focused with an ability to meet deadlines.
- Motivated self-starter who works well independently as well as with a high performing, diversified team.
