Summary
The Director of Engineering Services provides leadership and supervision of in-house and outside construction projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget. Implements plans to create and manage construction projects to achieve a safe, effective environment for patients, staff, and other individuals, consistent with the hospital's mission and vision.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and assign construction project work to in-house or outside contractors. Establish effective communication to plan, coordinate, and schedule projects with users.
- Assist the Vice President of Support Services in developing construction project budgets and time schedules. Monitor and ensure projects are on budget and completed with quality workmanship.
- Recruit, supervise, and train support staff. Provide creative initiatives through training, development, and educational programs.
- Review and ensure compliance with codes and regulations on all construction projects. Inspect projects for code compliance, workmanship, and equipment installation.
- Develop and monitor departmental goals and objectives. Provide leadership through planning, organizing, and evaluating the quality of services provided.
Experience
- Generally requires 7 to 10 years of related experience. Management experience is required.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is required. Master's degree is strongly preferred.
