19th August, 2024The CompanyThis is an exciting opportunity to work with a global conference organizer. Our client is looking for a Director of Events to join their company in a FT capacity. The RoleThe Director of Events is a senior role that will work to create, plan and deliver a range of live, hybrid and virtual events and conferences. The Director of Events will manage a team of staff and is responsible for the day to day delivery of all events and working with the internal departments to bring the events to life. Reports to the COO.Key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing and coordinating all aspects of events from concept through to brief, ideation and event delivery. You will be working across a multitude of projects at the same time
  • Day to day management of a team of staff. Must ensure all staff adhere to company culture, values and deliver to the highest level
  • Managing project timelines, production schedules, critical paths and supplier contracts
  • Managing project budgets and reporting to ensure financial profitability
  • Contracting and managing suppliers including venues, audio visual, catering and technical staff
  • Conducting site inspections and client presentations
  • Continually looking for ways to innovate and bring events to life
This Job is Ideal for Someone who has
  • 10+ years events and conference delivery experience
  • Experience delivering virtual events across the corporate and B2B sector, from large-scale conferences to webinars to intimate networking and breakout sessions
  • Proven experience working across multiple events and projects simultaneously
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong staff management experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A passion for events and drive to thrive in a fast-paced, high pressure agency environment
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Proven experience managing event production budgets
  • Excellent time management and problem solving skills
  • Flexible, dependable, detail orientated, innovative, motivated and enthusiastic about delivering exceptional events
  • A thorough understanding of permitting standards and procurement
  • The Candidate must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed; as well as participate in overnight travel for events
  • Local and interstate travel may be required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
The anticipated salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000 + benefits + bonus structure, dependent on experience. The package is based on a range of factors, including relevant experience, skills, knowledge, job-related qualifications, complexity of the role, market considerations, geographic location and region, and budgetary considerations.
