Position: Director of Facilities Services

Overview:

The Director of Facilities Services oversees the Facilities Services department, responsible for maintaining and enhancing retail stores, corporate offices, and distribution centers. This role encompasses Repairs and Maintenance, Property Management, and Corporate Facilities Services, ensuring all projects meet or surpass operational standards while staying within budget. The position requires coordination with vendors, landlords, and property managers.

In this role, you'll manage corporate workspaces as part of ongoing expansion and renovation efforts, focusing on accommodating associate growth and fostering a productive, collaborative work environment. The role includes managing a team of 20+ and requires 25% travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget Management: Develop and manage an annual budget of $80M for repairs, maintenance, fixtures, and related service lines. Oversee CAPEX initiatives and a budget exceeding $20M in collaboration with Store Operations, Salon, and Finance.
  • Cost Oversight: Manage costs related to repairs and maintenance, janitorial services, trash removal, storage, and capitalized maintenance.
  • Innovative Solutions: Develop and implement programs for lighting, HVAC, energy management, and other repair and maintenance solutions.
  • Compliance & Coordination: Serve as the primary contact for municipalities, regulatory authorities, Store Operations, and Loss Prevention to manage critical issues and ensure OSHA compliance. Collaborate with these teams to identify sustainable, cost-effective operational solutions.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Align with corporate social responsibility goals to promote environmentally sustainable practices.
  • Corporate Space Management: Oversee the planning, renovation, and management of corporate spaces, ensuring effective space planning and corporate services.
  • Work Order Management: Ensure the Work Order Management System functions optimally, provide training to field teams, and continuously improve the system to meet evolving facility needs.

Vendor & Team Management:

  • Vendor Relations: Align vendors with company objectives, set clear performance goals, provide regular feedback, and enhance performance.
  • Team Leadership: Foster a high-performance culture by motivating staff, setting clear goals, providing coaching, and developing team skills through training programs.

Results-Driven Approach:

  • Performance Culture: Cultivate a collaborative, high-performance environment focused on continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Execution: Implement strategies and tactics based on data (financial, environmental, performance), making quick corrective actions when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in facilities management or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving, organizational, and influencing abilities. Excellent communication skills (oral and written), with expertise in process improvement and project management. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required; knowledge of Access is a plus.
