Under the direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities, the Director of Facilities Operations is responsible for managing a comprehensive maintenance and repair program for North Carolina A&T State University.
The director contributes to the development of the campus master plan and direct activities to implement the plan. This individual oversees a work force of over 180 employees, in-house project managers and construction contractors in the renovation, maintenance and repair of the campus facilities.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The mission of Facilities is to provide a quality learning, research and living environment for the benefit of students, faculty and staff and the community by planning, building, operating, and maintaining the campus of North Carolina A&T State University.
Minimum Requirements
Master's degree in architectural, electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering and four years of technical and supervisory experience in facility, construction and project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor's degree in these disciplines and six years of experience). Additional experience in project scheduling, NC Building Codes and familiarity with OSHA rules and regulations required.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
At least six years of technical and supervisory experience in a multi-building environment performing facilities and grounds maintenance.
Licensed/Professional Engineer Certification
Membership in the Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers (APPA)
