Job Description SummaryThe Director of Finance & Budget Operations reports directly to the Vice President/Chief of Communications and Marketing providing support for the enterprise operations of the area. The operating budget is spread across three entities (MUHA, MUSC and MUSC-P) budget exceeds $20M. The Director is an integral operational partner and collaborates with the Chief and other Directors in the implementation of enterprise initiatives as well as serving as a strategic financial resource. The Director prepares and complies all financial strategic plans including proformas, return on investment calculations and forecast in conjunction with the various enterprise financial offices. Reviews and monitors all financial activities of OCM to include marketing budgets for the Regional Hospitals and the associated ICCE areas on a daily, monthly, and annual basis. Directs and manages the development of annual budgets. Supervises the procurement process outside of the functions of the supply chain. Acts as the liaison to various support services. Manages special projects as assigned by the Chief. Additionally, the Director will collaborate with the other enterprise team leaders.A master's degree (MBA) preferred with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or Equivalent Work Experience: 9 years progressive work experience and 4 years management experience. Experience in a position of significant financial and operational responsibility in an academic medical institution or related institution is required. Knowledge and understanding of budgeting, operations, labor management, strategic planning, and satisfaction performance reporting systems and methodologies are required. Proven ability to research, gather, synthesize, and organize information to produce concise reports using various resources. Understanding of external regulatory requirements, internal controls and effective compliance assurance methods is preferred. Experience with contract negotiation, audit, and compliance is desired. Must be proficient in the use of spreadsheets and have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate complicated policies and procedures and financial information to a wide variety of audiences.
