POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Finance will lead ASI's financial strategies and operations, overseeing all aspects of accounting and finance. - Develop and execute ASI's financial strategy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance program performance
- Participate in institutional strategic planning
- Provide financial counsel to leadership team, staff, and Board of Trustees
Lead Financial Management
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
- Manage investment portfolio and endowments
- Lead the annual audit process and tax compliance
- Implement financial technologies and best practices
Be a Team Leader
- Hire, train, and mentor accounting staff
- Foster a culture of collaboration and professional development
Manage Stakeholder Relations
- Present financial reports to leadership team and Board of Trustees
- Manage relationships with external financial partners
- Ensure compliance with funding source requirements
RequirementsYou're right for this role if you have-
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive financial management experience
- Experience with complex nonprofit organization
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
- Comprehensive understanding of financial operations (audits, budgeting, AP/AR, GL, payroll, investments)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, advanced Excel, and cloud-based financial systems
- Knowledge of data analytics for financial decision-making
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills, especially in explaining complex financial concepts
- Collaborative approach to financial management
We prefer these additional skills-
- Active or inactive CPA license
- Experience with fund and grant accounting
- Familiarity with CRM databases
