Director of Finance - Khoury College of Computer SciencesAbout the OpportunityThis position reports to the Assistant Dean of Research Administration & Finance.The Finance Director leads a small team focused on providing financial budgeting and reporting for the College. The Finance Director partners closely with the Director of Finance and Operations in understanding and solving key financial matters.Primary Responsibilities:
  • In partnership with the Assistant Dean, leading the college annual budget and quarterly forecast process, working with budget managers on cost center budgets, and ensuring all funds are correctly projected.
  • Responsible for the monthly financial reporting package to the Dean and Assoc Dean of Administration and Finance, including key drivers, trended financial views, and variance commentary.
  • Providing financial modeling and analysis as needed.
  • Supervising monthly cost center reports and addressing college financial questions.
  • Working with key University partners including the Provost office, Development, Finance, and Accounting.
  • Supporting and developing the Associate Director of Finance.
  • Responsibilities:Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Leading the college annual budget and quarterly forecast process.
    • Working with budget managers on cost center budgets using the team's portfolio model.
    • Providing oversight for operating, restricted (including grants), and discretionary funds of the college.
    • Monitoring budgetary trends relevant to accomplishing college and university goals.
    • Serving as a resource for departmental managers and senior leadership.
    • Reviewing and utilizing enrollment data to project revenue and evaluate trends.
    • Overseeing and managing all internal revenue programs as Khoury continues to expand.
    Financial Reporting & Analysis
    • Owning the monthly financial reporting package to the Dean and Assoc Dean of Administration and Finance.
    • Developing new reports and analysis as needed.
    • Supervising monthly cost center reporting.
    Financial Modeling
    • Creating models as needed to support the college, including new programs and campus launches.
    • Owning the MS multi-year enrollment and revenue model, making enhancements as needed.
    • Making recommendations to the SLT for best practices and approaches.
    Projects
    • Managing special projects as needed (i.e., fiscal year end, merit, MOUs).
    • Participating in Khoury working groups, DEIAB efforts, etc.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar; MBA preferred.
    • 7-10 years budgeting and financial reporting experience in a university and/or business setting required.
    • Advanced Excel skills required, including pivot tables and graphs.
    • Management experience preferred.
    • Workday Finance experience desirable; Knowledge of Banner, Concur, Cognos preferred.
    • PowerPoint experience desirable.
    • Ability to create financial models in Excel.
