Reports to: Chief Enrollment Management Officer

Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Enrollment Management Officer, the Director of Financial Aid will take a leadership role in Baldwin's success by managing the tuition assistance program and supporting initiatives that benefit the enrollment of new families and the re-enrollment of current families.

The Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the tuition assistance process, including budget planning, constituent relations, outreach, and administration of tuition assistance for new and returning families, upholding confidentiality standards.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing tuition assistance or financial aid within an educational setting, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, experience engaging with diverse audiences, budget oversight, and effective strategic planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Chief Enrollment Management Officer to execute tuition assistance strategies for recruitment and retention. Manage the tuition assistance process for new and returning families;
  • Engage in budget planning discussions, oversee the tuition assistance budget, make data-informed decisions, and meet deadlines;
  • Communicate the values of the tuition assistance program to stakeholders;
  • Ensure exceptional service through all tuition assistance touchpoints;
  • Lead Tuition Assistance Committee meetings, review applications, and make award recommendations;
  • Use data to track progress, report to goal, and inform decision-making;
  • Create communications related to the application process, meet with families, and collaborate with Enrollment Operations;
  • Participate in recruitment, enrollment, and retention initiatives on and off campus;
  • Support candidates applying for admission, manage applications, and engage with families;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Professional Competencies:

  • At least 3 years of managing tuition assistance and working with families;
  • Dedication to customer service;
  • Self-motivated, excellent project management, professionalism, communication skills, and attention to detail;
  • Confidence in speaking professionally and relating to various audiences;
  • Understanding of educational trends;
  • Desire to grow and perform other duties.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree preferred;
  • 3-5 years of experience in admissions, education, or related field;
  • Availability nights and weekends, valid driver's license, ability to commute;
  • Confidentiality, computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Google Suite, and student information systems. Experience with Blackbaud and Clarity is a plus.
