- Five (5) or more years of professional work experience in the area of financial examination, auditing, compliance, and/or regulatory oversight within the financial services industry. A postsecondary degree from an accredited college/university with a major course of study in economics, finance, business or accounting may be used as an alternative for the required years of experience on a year-for-year basis.AND
- Three (3) or more years of professional work experience directly supervising, organizing, directing, and evaluating subordinate employees.PREFERENCES:
- Three (3) or more years of professional experience working in risk assessment, compliance, or business operations within the financial services industry.
- Extensive leadership and/or supervisory experience in the financial services industry.
- Detailed working knowledge of laws and rules governing financial institutions.

- Ability to effectively utilize agency hardware and software programs including proficient utilization of the OFR REAL (Regulatory and Enforcement Licensing) system.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:Supervises direct reports including motivating, training, providing guidance and direction. Develops expectations and meets with staff regularly to discuss performance, completes performance reviews and disciplinary action if needed. Monitors leave and attendance, maintains work schedules to ensure proper coverage and completes timesheets. Ensures all staff complete the required training and are offered additional training.The Florida Office of Financial Regulation (OFR) provides regulatory oversight for Florida's financial services industry. The OFR reports to the Financial Services Commission made up of the Governor and the members of the Florida Cabinet. The OFR's mission is to protect Florida's financial services consumers, promote a safe and sound financial marketplace, and contribute to the growth of Florida's economy through fair, innovative, and excellent regulation of the financial services industry.The Director supervises direct reports. The incumbent of this position is responsible for the personnel management activities for those staff reporting directly to this position and for all employees in the incumbent's chain of command.
