Fusion Pharmaceuticals, a member of the AstraZeneca Group, is a clinical-stage oncology company focused on developing next-generation radioconjugates (RCs) as precision medicines. Fusion connects alpha particle emitting isotopes to various targeting molecules to selectively deliver the alpha emitting payloads to tumors. Fusion's clinical portfolio includes, but is not limited to: FPI-2265 targeting prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) for metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer currently in a Phase 2 trial; FPI-1434 targeting insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor currently in a Phase 1 trial; and FPI-2068, a bispecific IgG-based EGFR-cMET targeted radioconjugate currently in a Phase 1 trial. In addition, Fusion is pursuing combination programs between RCs and DNA Damage Response Inhibitors (DDRis) and immune-oncology agents. Fusion has a fully operational Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant state-of-the-art radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility to meet supply demand for Fusion's growing pipeline of RCs. SUMMARY: The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will serve as a financial liaison to support and inform the senior management team across the business with locations in Boston, Massachusetts and Hamilton, Ontario and be a liaison with the AstraZeneca finance group. This role's focus is to develop best in class planning, budgeting, forecasting, and informative systematic business reporting and analysis to enhance financial tools and insights on the Company's profitability, stability, liquidity, and growth. This individual will help drive strategic decision making to maximize value creation by supporting clinical activities and portfolio prioritization, drug development (CMC, non-clinical) activities, and manufacturing activities. The position will report to the Chief Legal Officer of Fusion for the immediate future but ultimately to the AstraZeneca finance team. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversee and manage the continued development of budgeting, financial forecasting, long-range planning (LRP), medium/short term planning (MTP/ phased budget), and modeling tools • Monitor financial results and performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives and highlight opportunities for growth and operational improvements to Proactively drive efficiencies initiatives leading to increase business improvement • Evaluate financial impact of business development transactions, including partnerships, in-licensing, joint ventures, and asset acquisitions • Support alliance management activities and develop budgets and workplans underlying key collaboration agreements • Partnering with key business stakeholder support the allocation of resources and prioritisation to support meeting overall targets provided from Oncology R&D EVP • Prepare presentations to Fusion CEO, senior management and AZ Oncology R&D EVP and finance VPCoaches, develops and motivates manager level colleagues to ensure an inclusive way of working where accountabilities are clear, objectives are delivered • Participate in special projects and cross-functional improvement initiatives • Deliver ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed for a high growth and innovative company • Collaborate with AZ finance through all key forecasting cycles and any integration work at the appropriate time QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA/MSF highly preferred • 10+ years' experience as VP or Director of Financial Planning & Analysis with a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company • Ability to leverage financial expertise, business perspective, and effective communications skills to foster successful outcomes • Capable of working independently and as a team member with excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build strong relationships with excellent communication • Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills • Highly-driven and self-motivated All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
