The Director of Financial Reporting will oversee the preparation of and lead the audit of the Company's consolidated financial statements. The Director will report directly to the Controller and have a high level of interaction with senior management. Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP on a quarterly and annual basis
- Develop and implement financial reporting and technical accounting policies, procedures, and best practices to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the financial reporting process.
- Coordinate and lead annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors, executives, finance and legal departments
- Provide technical accounting support for complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, new products, revenue recognition, and equity compensation.
- Collaborate with the Controller to manage the consolidation of financial results from various legal entities within Armanino
- Lead the research, interpretation, and implementation of new accounting standards and regulations, providing technical accounting guidance to the finance team and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with operations teams to review new contract terms and ensure appropriate technical accounting treatment
- Participate in auditor selection RFQ, interviews, fee negotiations and pre-audit planning
- Coordinate sign-off on the financial statements with the external auditor, including the preparation of related disclosure checklists and other documentation required.
- Oversight of the administration of Armanino's profit incentive plans and the accounting and financial disclosure of all equity awards
- Lead research on technical accounting issues, ensuring compliance with company policies and U.S. GAAP across multiple complex areas (e.g., goodwill, leases, share-based compensation, revenue recognition, gross vs. net revenue presentation). Prepare detailed white papers to document technical accounting positions for ASC 606, 842, and 718.
- Risk & Reserve Estimation: Lead the estimation and validation of significant reserves for the company, such as legal reserves and variable consideration under ASC 450 and 606. Work closely with operational teams to gather data, execute models, and adapt methodology to new business initiatives.
Requirements - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- CPA license
- Minimum 7 years of relevant financial reporting experience
- Public Accounting Experience preferred
- Previous experience in preparation of form 10-K, 10-Q
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have intermediate skills in Excel
