Skilled Nursing Facility in Nassau County seeks Food Service Director to lead our dietary team!
Job responsibilities include:
- Oversight of Dietary Department
- Knowledge of regulating compliance
- Staffing and quality nutritional services
- Oversee food preparation, portion sizes, and the overall presentation of food
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas
- Ensure employees comply with health and food safety standards and regulations
- Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality or service
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must be knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations and guidelines governing dietary functions in the long-term care facility.
- Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
- Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the Dietary Services Department.
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of dietary service areas; must perform regular inspections of dietary service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
What's required:
- Must have extensive knowledge of food management, menu planning, and dietary therapy
- Must have knowledge of food purchasing and inventory control
- AAS degree in Food Service or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a Long-Term Care facility
