How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

As the Director, Product Management you will lead the global Product Management team in full lifecycle management of solutions and projects providing comprehensive pre-sale bid support and ensuring successful execution and delivery whilst maintaining budget, schedule and margin requirements.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

Your core responsibilities will be:

  • New Product Development
    • Generate all new product development requirements and work closely with engineering teams to ensure products meet the requirements and the market's needs.
    • Own the product road maps for all three verticals.
    • Generate all new product documentation, including, but not limited to, part number schemas, specification sheets, user manuals etc.
    • Brief business development status to senior management when material changes occur and as required by process.
    • Maintain and manage IP, Patents, and Trademarks via SPX identified providers.
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and co-ordinating and contributing to the Technical Training program.
  • Product Management
    • Provide information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product demand, launch status and sales results as required.
    • Lead all product launches including working with engineering, marketing, sales and operations, ensuring launch plans align with corporate goals.
    • Support the sales and marketing team with all product launches and marketing strategies.
    • Maintain product lifecycles including upgrades and obsolescence.
    • Provide the sales team and our customers with technical sales support and service.
    • Conduct technical training, including internal training for all staffs and external events such as masterclasses, distributor conferences, customer site visits etc.
    • Represent SPX/AtoN division at any relevant industrial associations.
    • Actively travel and support sales, our customers and partners as required.
    • Collaborate with global sales and marketing colleagues.
  • Analytics, Research, and Reporting
    • Identify and monitor market trends and opportunities for new product and solution development. Build business cases with support from sales and marketing to support new product and solution initiatives.
    • Develop and maintain product pricing and positioning strategies. Assesses market competition by comparing products against competitors, maintain a comprehensive competitor price and feature matrix.
    • Conduct relevant market research and provide market share analysis for global territories.
    • Present concise 18 month road map into SIOP process.
    • Generate and provide data to the sales team to assist with pricing, market share opportunities, and competitive feedback.
    • Maintain and manage 3rd party OEM relationships, including market feedback, sales and revenue performance.
  • What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

    We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

    Required Experience

    • 7+ years' experience in a product management role, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Knowledge of the AtoN industry and / or electrical products.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective production performance.
    • A strong understanding of marketing concepts with an emphasis on effectively managing and implementing product life cycle management.
    • Project Management experience working in a fast paced, innovative manufacturing environment managing multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Experience using proven Project Management methodologies and project tracking tools.
    • Experience in electrical system design and application engineering.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Relevant industry experience, preferably previous experience in solar powered systems, marine or aviation navigational aids.

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Ability to read and generate detailed electrical and mechanical documentation.
    • Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills.
    • Ability to work and influence across functions to deliver successful projects.

    Education & Certifications

    • Degree qualified with a background in electrical, mechanical, project engineering or technical product management.

    Travel & Working Environment

    • Ability to travel internationally.
