Position Title: Director of Graduate Recruiting for Online Programs

Position Type: Fixed Term (Fixed Term)

Hiring Range: $69,600 - $81,850 per year; Compensation will be based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role and internal equity.

A. POSITION PURPOSE

The Director of Graduate Recruiting for Online Programs is responsible for all aspects of recruiting at the top level of the funnel for graduate online programs at Santa Clara University. The Director serves as the key leader in driving our recruitment, outreach and admissions strategy, and brings an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit to expand our profile, outreach, and grow enrollment for the graduate online programs. The Director oversees enrollment projections, strategy development and execution. The Director will provide leadership to the recruiting team, guiding team members' efforts with the goal of creating a culture of excellence in customer service while implementing recruitment and admissions strategies and overseeing operations for achieving admissions and enrollment growth targets.

  • SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT
    • Develop a deep understanding of our recruiting funnel from prospects through applying. Develop reports as needed on enrollment challenges and opportunities based on the funnel.
    • Utilize data to drive growth in the prospect pool with an eye towards increasing the pool of qualified applicants.
    • Analyze and interpret data for each of the online programs to support the overall enrollment activities.
    • Develop and manage effective recruiting events for online graduate programs and work in tandem with the various colleges and schools.
    RECRUITMENT

    Strategy and innovation in outreach, recruitment and enrollment growth:

    • Works with Associate Vice Provost for Online Graduate Programs and the various Graduate Assistant Deans to determine recruitment activities and events and leads outreach and recruitment efforts for the online graduate programs.
    • Provide leadership in implementing recruiting strategies and make data driven enrollment decisions based on best practices in recruiting and enrollment management.
    • Identifies and initiates new recruitment opportunities to increase program interest and enrollments.
    • Proactively develops and assesses recruitment programs by evaluating maximum effectiveness and efficiencies.
    • Establish prospect pools to ensure targets for quality and quantity are met or exceeded.
    • Collaborates with the Associate Vice Provost for Online Graduate Programs to implement strategic recruitment plans and goals.
    • Increase visibility of SCU online programs through outreach programs, graduate school fairs, training seminars and presentations for recruitment of students from targeted communities.
    • Track and monitor student movement through the online application process and guide them to meet specific deadlines.
    • Provide accurate forecasting data to the Associate Vice Provost for Online Graduate Programs.
    • Maintain weekly communication with potential students to keep them engaged and aware of their responsibilities during the application process.
    • Communicate with potential online students via phone, chat and/or email.
    Day to Day Management of Recruitment Team and Processes
    • Execute the day-to-day recruitment activities including but not limited to outreach and recruitment, prospect and lead generation.
    • Manage daily operations and provide training, motivation and a positive work environment for a results-driven team.
    • Represents the SCU graduate online programs at events on and off campus for prospective students, online events, undergraduate institutions, agency and district partners.
    • Utilize technology to support recruitment activities.
    • Maintain current and thorough knowledge of the university and the various online degree programs.
    Marketing (as it pertains to recruitment)
    • Manage and provide content for recruitment presentations including digital and print materials.
    • Works with the Associate Vice Provost for Online Graduate Programs and Director of Marketing and Communications to develop, implement and assess short and long term marketing and communication plans.
    • Maintain and implement ongoing marketing campaigns in Slate, Meta, LinkedIn, and the like.
    • Identify new opportunities and platforms to increase visibility and promote our online programs.
    • Engage current students and alumni to assist with promotion of programs and solicit volunteers to assist with recruitment opportunities (e.g., social media and online events).
    Technology
    • Utilizes SLATE, PeopleSoft and Workday to execute daily operational processes.
    • Produce, maintain and utilize weekly recruitment reports.
    • Assess effectiveness of targeting strategies and communications channels for prospects.
    Customer Service

    Deliver exceptional customer service to prospective students throughout the inquiry and application process.

    Strategy
    • Sits on the Vice Provost for Graduate Programs leadership team and assists with reports and metrics as needed.
    • Provides leadership and strategy for recruitment activities and procedures with the Associate Vice Provost for Online Graduate Programs.
    • As needed will work with the Assistant Deans of the colleges/schools on strategic alignment of online graduate recruiting.
    PROVIDES WORK DIRECTION TO:
    • 2 Assistant Directors of Recruiting for Online Graduate Programs.
    • May work with student employees.
    RECEIVES WORK DIRECTION FROM:
    • Associate Vice Provost - Online Graduate Programs.
    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The items below are representative of the knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience required or preferred.

    • Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's Degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 5-6 years relevant work experience preferred, preferably in higher education administration.
    • Experience in university admissions, preferably graduate level admissions.
    • Sales or Admissions experience.
    • Comfortability with online technology platforms.
    KNOWLEDGE
    • Strong expertise in admissions and/or graduate school recruiting preferred.
    • Knowledge of graduate programs in various disciplines.
    • Understanding of higher education marketing.
    • Working knowledge of enrollment CRM, student information systems and other technology solutions in student marketing and recruitment.
    • Comfortability with online technology platforms.
    • Understanding and support of the Jesuit tradition of education and a commitment to the fundamental values of service to others, community and diversity.
