**As the Director of Care, you'll oversee the activity of the nursing department and personal support workers on staff, in addition to monitoring and improving care for residents.**
**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Responsible for the overall quality and delivery of services to Home Care Residents.
* Defines philosophy, goals and objectives of Menorah Park Home Care.
* Ensures regulatory compliance for Menorah Park Home Care.
* Responsible for maintaining revenues/expenses within the approved budget.
* Ensures that all community based programs/projects are efficiently planned, managed, and well-coordinated with other facility operations.
* Ensures that effective policies and procedures are established and followed.
* Ensures that employees of Menorah Park Home Care receive prescribed orientation, in services, and supervision. Ensures that established personnel policies are followed.
* Ensures that a residents/clients complaints, problems and suggestions are addressed and responses are provided as appropriate. Maintains a complaint log.
* Seeks and follows direction from the Executive Director.
* Carries out special projects as assigned by the Executive Director.
* Attends meetings, prepares reports, analyzes and provides recommendations in a timely and accurate manner.
* Recommends and implements appropriate activities to encourage and advance programs(s) development and growth.
* Develops and implements procedures for gathering information and keeping necessary records and statistics.
* Promotes and develops favorable and cooperative community relations.
* Promotes Home Care through brochures, public speaking engagements, and on a one-to-one basis.
* Plans ahead for anticipated growth areas.
* Maintains professional growth and development by attending workshops, seminars, and other related meetings.
* Maintains HPN network and census tracking for Department of Health.
* Ensures evaluations of Menorah Park Home Care staff are completed in a timely fashion.
* Stays compliant with New York State Department of Health standards
* Some local travel is required
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**
* Registered Nurse with NYS
* Five plus years experience in a senior living organization.
* Knowledge of or ability to learn New York State Department of Health Regulations for licensed home care agencies.
* Positive people skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
* CPR Certified
* Basic computer skills
* Prior experience in a Supervisory role.
* Must have own transportation
**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS** :
* Ability to lift 50 pounds and to walk 5-10 miles per day. Work may require repetitive motion tasks.
