Job Summary: The Director of Home Care Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence and aligning day-to-day functions with the organizations strategic goals. This role oversees core areas, including nursing, waiver programs, private pay services, and intake operations, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, financial stewardship, and superior patient care. The Director leads cross-functional teams, optimizes workflows, manages budgets, and fosters a culture of collaboration and accountability. This individual is also responsible for identifying growth opportunities, implementing innovative solutions, and ensuring organizational resilience through risk management and process improvements. The Director of Operations will serve as a key advisor to executive leadership, contributing to strategic planning, resource allocation, and performance evaluation across all operational facets.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Oversight and Leadership

  • Develop and implement strategic goals for nursing, waiver programs, private pay services, and intake operations to align with the organizations overall mission.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics across all operational areas to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.

Nursing Operations

  • Provide high-level oversight of nursing services, ensuring optimal staffing models and resource allocation to meet patient care needs.
  • Monitor compliance with clinical protocols, federal and state healthcare regulations, and quality standards.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and improve satisfaction through strategic partnerships and resource optimization.

Waiver Program Operations

  • Oversee the execution of Medicaid waiver programs, ensuring eligibility processes, service delivery, and compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Develop and evaluate policies and programs that support individualized care plans for waiver program participants.
  • Analyze program performance data to drive improvements and address gaps in service delivery.

Private Pay Services

  • Direct the development of private pay service models, ensuring they meet client expectations for personalized, high-quality care.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and financial performance to drive growth and sustainability.
  • Lead efforts to expand service offerings and market reach, fostering strong client relationships and partnerships.

Intake Operations

  • Provide strategic oversight for the intake process, ensuring timely and accurate client onboarding from referral to enrollment.
  • Establish and maintain efficient workflows for client assessments and service initiation.
  • Oversee partnerships with referral sources, ensuring effective collaboration and satisfaction with intake processes.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all operational areas adhere to regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and ethical standards.
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives to maintain high service standards and identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

Financial Oversight and Resource Management

  • Develop and manage budgets for each operational area, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve organizational goals.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive financial efficiency without compromising quality of care.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to inform strategic decisions and performance improvements.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead and mentor department managers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Develop and implement succession planning to ensure continuity and stability in leadership and operations.
  • Monitor team performance against established KPIs, providing guidance and support to drive success.

Innovation and Business Development

  • Identify and implement innovative technologies and practices to enhance operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with external stakeholders to expand service capabilities and market presence.
  • Monitor industry trends and adjust strategies to maintain a competitive edge in the home healthcare sector.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Management, Nursing,

or a related field; a Masters degree in a relevant discipline is strongly preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, preferably within a home healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple operational departments such as nursing, waiver programs, private pay services, and client intake.

Leadership and Management Skills

  • Exceptional ability to lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Strong strategic planning and decision-making capabilities, with experience aligning departmental objectives to overarching organizational goals.

Technical Proficiency

  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare technologies and systems, including electronic health records (EHR), client management platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HHAeXchange), and financial reporting tools.

Regulatory and Compliance Expertise

  • In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local healthcare regulations related to nursing services, Medicaid waiver programs, and private pay operations.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with HIPAA, Medicaid/Medicare, and other relevant healthcare standards.
