Loudoun County is looking for a compassionate, engaged, and forward-thinking leader to serve as the Director of Housing and Community Development. This role will oversee the Department of Housing and Community Development, leading efforts to increase both newly constructed and preserved affordable and attainable housing across the county. As part of the County Administrator's executive leadership team, the Director will report directly to the Senior Deputy County Administrator. Key responsibilities include guiding and advising on strategies to improve housing affordability in Loudoun County. The Director will oversee the department's operations, manage a $15.1 million budget, and administer the County's affordable homeownership and rental initiatives. This includes managing the Affordable Dwelling Unit purchase and rental initiatives, Unmet Housing Needs Unit purchases and rentals, Down Payment and Closing Cost Assistance, Public Employee Homeownership Grants, and the Sponsoring Partnerships and Revitalizing Communities efforts. The Director will also oversee state-level rental assistance as well as federal initiatives such as the Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships, and the Housing Choice Voucher. Compensation and Benefits Loudoun County offers a hiring range of $205,000 - $235,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, the County offers a comprehensive and generous benefits package with multiple group health plan options, dental, vision, and disability; leave benefits including annual leave and sick leave accruals PLUS annual leave equivalent to ten days will be advanced as of date of hire; personal leave equivalent to ten days will be granted as of date of hire; Virginia Retirement System; deferred compensation plan; group life insurance; flexible spending accounts; paid family leave and wellness, education, and other benefits.
