POSITION: Director of Human Resources

LOCATION: Warwick, RI

REPORTS TO: CFO

About Plum Dental Group (“Plum” or the “Company”)

Plum is a dynamic, high growth Dental Partnership Organization (DPO) with 25+ locations in RI and eastern CT supporting over 350 total employees. The Company's affiliated dental practices provide comprehensive general, specialty and cosmetic dental care to over 80,000 patients annually. As a DPO, we are responsible for managing all administrative support functions of the dental practices including marketing, facilities, HR, insurance, accounting, billing, etc. so that dentists can focus on treating patients and not have to worry about the nuts and bolts of running or maintaining a practice.

This is an opportunity to join a small, young team of entrepreneurial-minded people that are trying to think differently about providing dental care to patients and about creating a long-term home for good dentists that align with our values. The Company is seven years old and is growing rapidly, providing significant opportunity for advancement for hard workers that work well as part of our team. You will receive significant responsibility and mentorship reporting to the CFO while collaborating extensively with the CEO and the rest of the management team. This is a great way to learn about running a high growth, acquisitive services company while helping to build a best-in-class healthcare business.

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources strategy and operations. This includes developing and implementing policies and procedures, managing team member relations, onboarding new hires, overseeing benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with labor laws, as well as promoting a strong culture through team member engagement, professional development (including regular training, feedback, and reviews), and designing social activities/valued benefits. A key part of the job includes identifying opportunities for improvement in HR processes and systems, implementing innovative solutions, and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

You will also gain valuable experience with supporting the onboarding of 5-7 new practice acquisitions each year.

Plum's headquarters in Warwick, RI serves as a home base for the administration team members, while the operations team are usually in the dental practices throughout RI and eastern CT.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Strategic HR Leadership

o Develop and implement HR strategies that align with Plum's goals and enhance organizational effectiveness

o Serve as a key member of the executive team, providing insights on HR-related issues

· Talent Management

o Implement effective onboarding programs and employee development initiatives

· Employee Relations

o Foster a positive workplace culture that encourages employee engagement and retention

o Address employee concerns and mediate conflicts as necessary

· Performance Management

o Develop and manage performance appraisal systems that promote accountability and professional growth

o Collaborate with managers to set clear performance objectives and provide feedback

· Compliance and Policy Development

o Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations

o Develop, implement, and review HR policies and procedures

· Training and Development

o Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs for employees

o Promote continuous learning and career advancement opportunities

· Compensation and Benefits

o Oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and equity

o Conduct regular market analysis to inform salary and benefits strategies

· HR Metrics and Reporting

o Utilize HR metrics to evaluate effectiveness and make data-driven decisions

o Prepare regular reports for the executive team on HR performance and initiatives

Knowledge and Experience Requirements

· 7+ years of HR management experience, preferably in healthcare

· Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices

· Experience with HR software solutions and effective use of technology to support HR administration

· Demonstrated ability to improve culture, team work/collaboration, and team member performance/accountability

· Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate across multiple departments

· Acquisition and integration experience a plus

Compensation

· Salary and annual bonus dependent on background and level of experience

o The ceiling is high at Plum – we are a young and lean company and there will be new opportunities that develop as we grow; salary can increase considerably (and potentially include equity) as you develop and take on additional responsibility
