Our client, a prestigious not-for-profit advisory association located in Manhattan, is seeking a Director of Information Technology. As a small but impactful organization, this role will be pivotal in shaping the IT infrastructure and operations.This is a hybrid position, and candidates must be able to work in the Manhattan (Wall Street Area). The individual in this role will be responsible for leading and overseeing IT personnel, managing daily operations, and ensuring the smooth functioning of all technology systems within the IT department of this esteemed nonprofit.Duties and Responsibilities:The Director of IT will handle various tasks related to overseeing the company's computer networks and improving the network systems. Some of the daily responsibilities include:
- Developing new network troubleshooting strategies to help reduce downtime and decrease maintenance costs.
- Managing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, network systems, and security systems.
- Developing and implementing IT policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of our systems and data.
- Providing technical support and assistance to employees, troubleshooting issues and resolving problems in a timely manner.
- Overseeing the procurement and installation of new hardware and software systems, ensuring compatibility and functionality.
- Planning, coordinating, and executing IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Maintaining disaster recovery plans and ensuring systems are backed up and recoverable.
- Staying current with the latest technology trends in the Financial Services (Insurance) industry.
- Working with the team to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with industry regulations and standards are met or exceeded.
- Managing several ongoing projects to ensure they are delivered on time and on budget.
- Staying up to date with new network technology and reporting this information to the executive team in a timely manner.
- Collaborating closely with other Managers to achieve corporate goals and KPIs.
- Working closely with the company's Cybersecurity Partners/Vendors to keep the company secure and compliant.
- Managing the company's Helpdesk interactions with external brokers.
Education and Training Requirements
- Minimum educational requirements: a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. A master's degree in business administration, network security, or computer science is also desirable.
- 10-20 years of experience in IT Management, preferably within the Financial Services industry with some knowledge of Insurance.
- Strong knowledge of networking and server technologies, including Windows Server and Cisco networking.
- Experience working in a Windows environment across (Private/Public/Hybrid) Cloud Solutions, Active Directory Services (AD), and Citrix.
- Must have previous experience working in VDI environments and platforms.
- Project management experience, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.

- Competency in project management, support for WFH environment, and Remote Monitoring & Management Solutions.

- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of the full Microsoft Suite is expected.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships through effective, timely communication and meet deadlines.
