Job Description:
*Position Summary:*Director of Intake and Admissions is responsible for all operational needs, including assessment, referral, and admission activities, 24 hours a day seven days a week. Director of Intake and Admissions provides clinical supervision to staff, initiates the admission process by educating and informing referral sources of admissions, provides referrals to appropriate levels of care facilities, and ensures that the program meets all CMS, TJC, and state and federal regulations.*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.1. Position represents Intake and Admissions department at the executive level including, participating in the development of policies & procedure, ensuring environmental safety, performance improvement plans, maintaining program resources/materials, and strategic planning.2. Responds to inquiry calls from hospitals discharge planners, physicians, families, and other sources.3. Manages the inquiry process professionally, timely and with appropriate follow up.4. Effectively manages occupancy levels and census mix enhancement.5. Manages the admission process by maintaining updated bed availability and facility service information.6. Communicate with Nursing and Environmental department staff regarding appropriate room and bed selection.7. Monitor inquiry, admission, and census trends.8. Preparing and maintaining patient files.9. Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies, and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.10. Manages specific intake and admissions programs.11. Prepares training sessions for newly hired staff members.12. Develops and maintains an intake and admissions budget.13. Coordinates services/referrals with community agencies regarding delivery of services, admissions, transfers, recruitment, and education.14. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies & procedures, work procedures, and instructions.15. Ability to work in a fast-past environment, manage crisis, meet deadlines, and maintain professional demeanor._*Note: The essential job functions of this position are not limited to the duties listed above.*_*SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:**This position manages all employees of the Intake and Admissions Department and is responsible for the performance management, hiring of employees, and termination procedures within the department.**Competencies:*1. This role routinely requires interaction with patients, documentation, and utilization of standard office equipment.*PHYSICAL DEMANDS:*This is largely a physical role with prolonged periods of standing, bending, climbing, stooping, and lifting heavy objects (50lbs individually and 100lbs assisted) is required.*REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:*· *Education: * Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Services, Psychology, or related field.· *Experience*: Five (5) years of intake and admissions management required. Experience managing a psychiatric inpatient facility preferred. Must have demonstrated leadership skills, comprehensive knowledge of mental health/psychiatric diagnosis, chemical dependance, and assessments.· *License:* Independent licensure at a Master's level by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT preferred.· *Understanding expectations of TJC, CMS, and state and federal licensing requirements.*· *Additional Requirements:* CPR certification, CPI, and valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card within 30 days of employment and prior to patient interaction.
