Director of Labor and Delivery | Austin, TX
Location: Austin, TX
Salary: $125,000 - $171,000 (based on experience) + Bonus Incentive
Shift: Full-Time, No Weekends
We are seeking an experienced Director of Labor and Delivery to lead a dynamic team in a high-volume, multi-specialty medical center located in beautiful Austin, Texas. As the Director, you will oversee the Labor and Delivery department, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care while driving operational efficiency and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Operations: Lead and manage the overall function of the L&D unit, including staff management, forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring.
- Quality & Safety: Implement evidence-based practices to improve patient safety and outcomes, ensuring adherence to care standards and regulatory requirements.
- Patient Experience: Drive initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and foster a positive, compassionate care environment.
- Employee Engagement: Create a supportive and engaging workplace, aligned with the organization's mission and values, and focusing on staff development and recognition.
- Financial Stewardship: Participate in the budget process, monitor departmental performance, and ensure resources are effectively utilized to meet financial goals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with administrative leadership, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to enhance services and improve overall patient care.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree required (Nursing preferred); Master's degree preferred.
- Licensure: Current RN license in Texas or compact license.
- Certifications: BLS required; ACLS, NRP, FHM, RNC-OB preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of Labor & Delivery experience in an acute care setting.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience as a Director or similar role in Labor & Delivery.
- Experience within a high-volume facility and HCA experience is a plus.

- Department Size: 5 FTEs directly reporting to the Director, with a total of 220 FTEs in L&D.
