Job Description:
Director of Landscape Architecture -Halff is seeking a Director of Landscape Architecture in the Dallas/ Fort Worth Texas Market. The selected candidate will lead an existing landscape architecture team that works collaboratively with other disciplines regularly including planners, engineers, and others to provide management on a wide variety of public and private projects.Project emphasis includes: Parks, trails, streetscapes, recreation facilities, trails, sports fields and master planning on public and private sector projects.This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment to help clients plan, design, and implement projects.Director of Landscape Architect Requirements:
  • Ability to work with and oversee design team, consultants, and clients through all design stages from concept through construction
  • Foster and promote a positive, team-oriented environment and office culture
  • Ability to lead a team and projects meeting deadlines and budget requirements
  • Experience managing the financial metrics of a project and the team
  • Knowledgeable in producing CD sets including hardscape, planting, construction details, specifications, and bidding packages.
  • Experience designing parks, trails, recreation facilities, master-planned communities, etc. for public and private sector clients.
  • Experience with construction methodologies and implementation
  • Well organized, detail-oriented, and highly motivated
  • Manage multiple projects of various scale and complexity simultaneously
  • Be able to anticipate the needs of clients and projects and resolve conflicts that arise
Director of Landscape Architect Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university
  • Texas registration as a Professional Landscape Architect
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible professional experience as a Professional Landscape Architect
  • Experience leading and developing people as well as leading projects
  • Familiarity with preparing proposals/scope of work documents and associated fees
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Land F/X, SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong Site Planning capabilities / knowledge, and excellent design skills
  • Experience in planting design, hardscape design and construction document generation is critical
  • Excellent communication skills - written, graphical, verbal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel periodically, primarily in state, to support project needs
