Position Overview: The Director of LGBTQ+ Health and Wellness Services is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the organizations comprehensive health services. This includes advocacy, mental health support, youth services, group facilitation, training and technical assistance, event coordination, and program evaluation. We are seeking a dynamic leader who is deeply passionate about LGBTQ+ health and capable of managing and growing diverse programs and initiatives that align with our mission and vision. Key Responsibilities: Demonstrate a Strong Commitment to IOOV's Mission : Uphold and advocate for the mission and values of In Our Own Voices, Inc. to promote health, wellness, and self-determination for LGBTQ+ communities, especially people of color. Leadership and Supervision : Serve as the day-to-day supervisor and primary contact for the youth LGBTQ drop-in space, overseeing both on-site and off-site activities to ensure a safe and inclusive environment. Program Evaluation and Community Engagement : Conduct end-of-year program evaluations and comprehensive community-wide pulse check surveys to assess community needs and program impact. Client Intake and Assessment Oversight : Assist with client intakes and assessments as needed, and oversee staff conducting these processes. Ensure the delivery of culturally relevant, nonjudgmental, and supportive health navigation and counseling. System and Process Improvement : Modify documentation tools and reporting systems as needed to improve service delivery and accountability. Outreach and Program Promotion : Provide face-to-face and online outreach in underserved areas to promote program enrollment, awareness, and engagement within the LGBTQ+ community. Event Collaboration : Work closely with the Special Events Coordinator to plan and execute major events such as BIPOC Pride , the UTD LGBT POC Health Conference , and other health-related events that serve our community. Quality Assurance and Data Management : Lead monthly quality assurance activities, including documentation oversight, outreach data collection, and tracking progress toward program goals as directed by funders. Supervision of Staff : Supervise the LGBT Program Coordinator, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Community Representation : Represent IOOV at local meetings and collaborate with Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) to stay informed about and contribute to current trends in disease prevention, treatment, and care. Planning and Outreach for IOOV Events : Actively participate in the planning, promotion, and outreach efforts for all IOOV events and projects. Data Integrity and Reporting : Ensure that all accomplished activities are accurately documented in appropriate databases, including a monthly AIRS extract, and submit required documentation and reports. Marketing and Promotion : Develop effective marketing and promotional materials to enhance service visibility both internally and externally. Compliance and Confidentiality : Ensure all programs comply with confidentiality laws and best practices to protect client privacy and trust. Qualifications: Education : Bachelors Degree in Public Health, Social Work, Mental Health, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may substitute for a degree. Experience : Minimum of three years of experience in human services, including outreach, education, or case management, with at least one year of experience in training and technical assistance.
