Pem-Air Turbine Engine Services is an FAA and EASA-certified global repair provider of gas turbine engines, accessories, and related platform components. Position Summary:

The Director of Logistics plans, directs, coordinates, and oversees all supply chain activities in the organization (i.e., procurement, inventory management, fulfillment, and shipping), ensuring development and implementation of efficient processes and cost-effective systems to meet the current and future needs of the company.

Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight

  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of global supply chain activities by providing oversight for all functions involved in the purchasing, planning, warehousing, transport, and control of materials from the receipt of replenishment needs to the delivery of the finished product into finished goods inventory and delivery of engine to customer(s)
  • Actively monitor and adjust workflows to address bottlenecks and improve efficiency while encouraging team involvement in discovering inefficiencies and brainstorming solutions for process improvements
  • Lead the implementation of new systems and/or process improvements, providing hands-on support during transitions
  • Be available as a point of escalation for problem-solving and decision-making in operational matters
  • Inventory and Procurement Leadership

  • Directly supervise inventory control processes, working with the team to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize waste
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers while guiding the purchasing / repair order teams in vendor selection, contract negotiations, and order placement to ensure cost-effectiveness and reliability
  • Monitor vendor performance for speed, efficiency, and quality of throughput
  • Engaging in Shipping / Receiving and Delivery Operations

  • Collaborate with shipping / receiving team to refine shipping, receiving, and delivery operations, ensuring smooth transitions from warehouse to production
  • Participate in the planning and prioritization of deliveries to meet the urgent needs of production and other stakeholders
  • Work closely with the team to resolve shipping, receiving, or delivery challenges in real time
  • Team Leadership and Development

  • Manage and mentor the team, fostering a collaborative culture of continuous improvement
  • Actively participate in day-to-day operations, providing guidance and support to team members when challenges arise
  • Identify skill gaps and provide training or development opportunities to enhance team capabilities
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review performance, set priorities, and alignment of goals
  • Performance Monitoring and Feedback

  • Develop and implement supply chain KPIs for productivity, speed, and order accuracy
  • Set clear performance expectations for the team, regularly reviewing results together
  • Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and recognition for staff to motivate and drive improvement
  • Drive technology adoption and develop power users where appropriate
  • Fostering Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with other departments to align supply chain strategies with overall business goals
  • Act as the primary link between the logistics team and other departments, ensuring open communication and coordination
  • Proactively address any disconnects between supply chain activities and the needs of internal stakeholders, such as mechanics or production teams
  • Facilitate problem-solving sessions and collaborative discussions to align team efforts with organizational goals
  • Regulatory and Safety Leadership

  • Ensure that the team complies with regulatory requirements and safety protocols, providing hands-on guidance when needed
  • Lead by example in adhering to policies, fostering a culture of accountability and compliance
  • Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven ability to design and execute a supply chain strategy
  • Motivated to create value across the entire organization (i.e., no silo mentality)
  • Proficiency in supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and ERP systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Strong analytical skills, with a track record of improving supply chain processes
  • Possess collaborative and managerial skills
  • Experience managing teams of full-time and part-time employees
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or another industry-related field required; MBA preferred
  • Previous aviation experience preferred
  • Previous P&L responsibility preferred
