Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
LAUNCH is seeking to hire a Director of Maintenance in Wichita, Kansas to support the UAL Reliability Program. As a crucial maintenance provider for UAL, the Director of Maintenance will be responsible for overseeing the quality, engagement, and overall work being done by our team on-site.
The Director of Maintenance will assess the qualifications of all maintenance employees before assigning work, reviewing training records and previous experience. They should be certified under 14 CFR Part 65 and will be responsible for training, assisting and supervising maintenance personnel according to LAUNCH RSM and customer procedures. They will ensure that all maintenance entries on maintenance forms and work orders used by the Repair Station are properly executed by the responsible mechanics. Furthermore, they will ensure that all maintenance is carried out in accordance with current maintenance manuals, manufacturers' data, and/or other FAA-approved data.
The Director of Maintenance will monitor and maintain the attendance records of the assigned crew and audit and approve weekly work records for the assigned work group. They will ensure accountability for the team to conduct themselves within the guidelines of company policies, work rules, and regulatory regulations. They will have the override authority of the Maintenance Departments if there is a disagreement with a Maintenance Technician.
Additionally, the Director of Maintenance will complete the Self Audit Questionnaire, LAUNCH Form R-145 for articles to be added to the Capabilities List, and submit it to the Director of Quality/Chief Inspector for review. They will monitor the performance and complete proficiency appraisals of the assigned workgroup and evaluate vacation requests against scheduling/manpower requirements and respond as needed.
Responsibilities:
Education and Experience:
Must hold a mechanic certificate with both airframe and powerplant ratings. Have one-year experience in a position responsible for returning airplanes to service.
Skills and Abilities:
Promote a culture of safety by monitoring self and others to assure all duties are performed within the guidelines as specified by the Compony Safety Manual. Manage operations in the most effective manner, eliminating waste, and improving productivity. Provide coaching, counseling and guidance to assigned work group. Attend meetings as needed to discuss critical path areas, planned work, critical parts, and overall aircraft status.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift fifty pounds. Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, twist, kneel. Crouch and stand for prolonged periods of time as well as walk extended distances. Must be able to climb stairs, ladders and service stands
