Position Summary
The Director of Marketing & Sales is responsible for day-to-day oversight of all event-related marketing, ice program marketing, and advertising functions designed to increase traffic and revenue to Centene Community Ice Center and Saint Louis Music Park. The position will also manage the venue's social media, database, and digital marketing strategies. In addition, the position will actively participate in venue branding, community relations, and publicity efforts in conjunction with other members of the Saint Louis Music Park and Centene Community Ice Center. This position will also be responsible for generating revenue for the venue through the sale of venue advertising, event sponsorships, signage, website, social media, and promotions.
This role will pay a yearly salary of $70,000 to $80,000 and is bonus eligible.

About the Venue
Centene Community Ice Center is a state-of-the-art facility designed for hockey programming that is curated for all ages and skill levels. It houses three sheets of ice inside year-round and also features an outdoor rink for use in winter months, transforming into St. Louis Music Park in the summer months, a 4,500 seat concert venue that hosts on average 30 shows per season. It is the official practice facility for the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL) and serves as the home rink for Lindenwood University (NCAA DI). Alongside hockey development programs, the facility also offers freestyle skating and daily public skate sessions providing a unique experience for locals to get on the ice.
Responsibilities
* Maintain venue website and social media
* Analyze specific marketing needs of prospects based on partner objectives, market strategies, category potential, activation potential and financials
* Create marketing plans for programs being promoted at the facility in conjunction with the ice programming department
* Create and implement new ideas and opportunities that will drive revenue for the venue and client through events at the Ice Center or the Music Park.
* Responsible for establishing new sponsorship and marketing partnerships and renewal of existing relationships to achieve annual revenue goals.
* Conduct cold calls as a way of securing appointments to sell to new prospects among local and national companies
* Maintain and monitor a solid media relations program, including the creation of media releases, coordination of interviews and media requests, promote all events and concerts.
* Effectively present proposals in front of individuals and large groups
* Develop meaningful business relationships with existing and potential sponsors
* Responsible for Saint Louis Music Park marketing of concert and events.
* Prospect, sell, cultivate, and maintain the corporate sponsorships for the venues in both new and renewal business
* Solicit new cash partnerships
* Design of sales proposals and presentations for potential corporate partners
* Effectively maintain department budgets and reporting
* Coordinate team efforts with other departments to implement marketing ideas/tasks
* Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, days, evenings, holidays, extended (long) workdays for an extended number of days as needed
Qualifications
* Bachelor degree or the equivalent training & experience
* 5+ years of sales experience with emphasis in major league team sports, larger market media (TV, radio) and/or sponsorship sales
* Proven track record of developing and managing highly strategic corporate partnerships; Strong prospecting, analytical, presentation and communication skills
* Highly proficient in Social Media implementation and execution.
* Knowledge of marketing and advertising/sponsorship program development
* Knowledge of Website maintenance
* Proven success in establishing and meeting challenging sales objectives in a high profile, competitive marketplace
* Comfortable managing tight deadlines and meeting aggressive sales goals and expectations
* Strong professional relationship skills; Ability to establish and maintain long-term strategic relationship with corporate clients, direct reports and co-workers
* Must be a skilled negotiator with the ability to effectively represent the standards and philosophy of the department
* Strong time management and organizational skills
* Able to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings
* Must be highly self-motivated and adept at working both independently and as part of a team.
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment
* Ability to work nights, all events, weekends, events and holidays as required
