Firm Summary: Winged Keel Group is an independent life insurance brokerage firm that creates and implements tax-efficient, multi-generational wealth accumulation and wealth transfer strategies for ultra-high net worth families. With offices in Boston, Houston, New York, Richmond, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and Denver, the firm specializes in the structuring and administration of large blocks of Traditional Life Insurance and large portfolios of Private Placement Variable Life Insurance and Annuities. Position Summary: Seeking a strategic and experienced leader with exceptional interpersonal skills to lead our Marketing and Communications team and oversee all aspects of event planning, drafting internal and external communications, ordering and distributing marketing materials, and managing branded gear. This is an excellent role for someone who is an effective communicator and leader, extremely organized, knows how to prioritize, and who thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. Event Planning:

  • Provide vision and direction on all event planning for highly curated marketing events.
  • Liaise with the heads of each regional office to craft their individual event plans in alignment with the firm's overall marketing strategy.
  • Manage a team to ensure effective execution of all events, including oversight of venue selection, invitation design, RSVP tracking and event-related communications, invoicing and budgeting.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with vendors, strategic partners, and event sponsors.
  • Manage annual event budgets for all regional offices.
Communications:
  • Oversee and manage website updates and content to ensure its consistent with Winged Keel Group's marketing message and brand
  • Maintain marketing lists in Salesforce and create campaigns for tracking touchpoints and other marketing activity with key centers of influence in each regional office.
  • Create an impactful social media presence for the company
    • Identify opportunities to expand social media campaigns, and manage those campaigns
    • Maintain an effective social media platform on LinkedIn
    • Communicate and promote PR activities and results within the firm
    • Work in partnership with the People & Culture department to promote the firm's culture and recruiting activities
  • Act as a brand ambassador, building relationships with key industry contacts.
  • Draft compelling content for email communications to the most influential bankers, financial advisors, estate attorney's and CPA's in all Winged Keel regional markets.
  • Write, edit, and manage mass communications sent by the firm.
  • Assist in the writing and development of industry publications and management of articles published by the Principals and Client Relationship Managers of the firm.
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communications and collateral including marketing materials, LinkedIn pages, email signatures, speaking activities, client materials, business cards, letterhead and stationery, etc.
  • Work closely with the Head of People & Culture to create marketing campaigns for talent acquisition projects (i.e. Career page on the company website, materials for recruiting at universities)
Management:
  • Develop and mentor a team of Marketing & Communications specialists.
  • Liaise with the Director of Executive Assistants on special projects and office managers in each office on additional support in the preparation and onsite execution of events.
  • Monitor and measure performance of activities to ensure quality and standards are being met.
  • Present key marketing activities, results, and areas of opportunity to senior management.
Gear:
  • Plan and oversee Winged Keel Group's inventory of branded items for center of influence and clients.
  • Oversee and ensure the timely management of inventory of company gear.
  • Lead brainstorming gear ideas for upcoming events.
  • Manage annual gear budget
  • Oversee Marketing Associate in vendor communication, design, and order tracking.
Ideal Candidate will Possess the Following:
  • Bachelor's degree from a top tier college, English, Public Relations or Communications major preferred
  • 8-10 years of marketing and communications experience, financial services preferred
  • Experience working with and targeting an ultra-high net worth client base
  • Strong mastery of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Superior business writing skills
  • Advanced proficiency in email and social media marketing best practices
  • Strong writing and content development skills, especially with developing concise, intelligent copy for sophisticated finance and business professionals
  • Sophisticated, articulate speaker with the confidence to present to top level executives
  • Experience with website content management
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and stay on task with the highest level of organization and detail orientation
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Creative, strategic thinker who can take initiative to drive market awareness
  • Demonstrated experience in event planning and project management
  • Proficiency with Photoshop, Salesforce, and Canva a plus
  • Positive, can-do attitude a must
