Job Description: General Statement of Duties: The Director of MassLINKS Enrollment, Advising, and Career Services provides leadership to MassLINKS enrollment, advising, career planning services aligned to the goals and objectives of the Division of Lifelong Learning and Workforce Development at Mount Wachusett Community College. The Director manages the implementation of effective academic and career planning services supporting student retention and success for the MassLINKS Adult Education Online Academy at Mount Wachusett Community College. The Director of MassLINKS Enrollment, Advising, and Career Services implements systems to analyze, evaluate, and ensure high quality enrollment, academic and career planning services at MassLINKS, manages the development and implementation of accessible, research-based services, establishes outcomes and systems for measuring key performance indicators, designs and participates in program development activities, evaluates the performance of assigned staff, and assists in the management of the day-to-day operations of the MassLINKS Adult Education Online Academy at Mount Wachusetts Community College, including the Returning Adults Center. The Director provides strategic leadership to the enrollment, advising, and career services at MassLINKS in accordance with funder and college policies. The Director of MassLINKS Enrollment, Advising, and Career Services prepares and submits reports to funders and prepares staff for site visits and program quality reviews conducted by funding agencies. Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership to Enrollment, Academic and Career Advising services at the MassLINKS Adult Education Online Academy at Mount Wachusett Community College.
  • Manage the areas of continuing student academic and career advising ensuring the effective day-to-day operations of enrollment, advising, and career programming at the MassLINKS Adult Education Online Academy at Mount Wachusett Community College including the day-to-day operations of the Returning Adults Center.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive enrollment, academic, and career development programming consisting of whole and small group instruction (in-class, workshops, guest speakers, etc.), individual career planning activities, and documented career plans incorporating local, regional, and statewide labor market information.
  • Ensure that MassLINKS meets all enrollment benchmarks established in its approved program design and grant application as expected by funders.
  • Ensure MassLINKS Advising and Career Planning Services are in compliance with all funder and college policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the MassLINKS Executive Leadership Team and Senior Executives at MWCC to provide leadership to equity initiatives within MassLINKS aligned to the equity goals of the Division of Lifelong Learning and Workforce Development and MWCC.
  • Develop and implement formal Assessment Plans for Enrollment, Advising, and Career Services at MassLINKS incorporating both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Collect and utilize programmatic data to improve current and future programming at MassLINKS including but not limited to gathering and documenting student feedback regarding quality and delivery method of services.
  • Develop and deliver professional development opportunities to staff regarding local, regional, and statewide enrollment, academic, career planning resources, policies, processes, and procedures increasing access to academic and career support services for MassLINKS students.
  • Provide supervision and leadership to a team of AE and ESOL MassLINKS Enrollment Advisors, Continuing Student Advisors, and specialized team members in Community Outreach and Disability Support, ensuring the effective implementation of developed systems of enrollment, academic, and career planning, and student support services.
  • Serve on cross-functional collaborative teams supporting collective and effective operations of the MassLINKS Adult Education Online Academy at Mount Wachusett Community College.
  • Serve on College, Local, and statewide committees as assigned by the Vice President of Lifelong Learning and Workforce Development.
  • Provides educational leadership to the MassLINKS Adult Education Online Academy, ensuring the alignment of mission between MassLINKS programming, Mount Wachusett Community College, and the Adult and Community Learning Services unit of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
  • Prepare and submit all MCCC required evaluation materials for direct reports belonging to the MCCC union.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of the MassLINKS multi-year strategic plan aligned to the strategic plan of the Division of Lifelong Learning and Workforce Development, Mount Wachusett Community College, ACLS, and the local workforce area.
  • Collaborates with internal partners at the college to ensure the integration of MassLINKS students into the college community and ensuring access of MassLINKS students to the full spectrum of college resources and supports allowable under ACLS and MWCC policy.
  • Collaborates with external partners to ensure the appropriate service design and delivery for all shared customers seeking multiple services under WIOA.
  • Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal policy associated with the effective operation and delivery of Title II programming under WIOA.
  • Monitors reports and accuracy of data input into statewide Adult Education database (LACES), and college database (Banner).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Education, Curriculum Development, Public Administration or related area;
  • Minimum of 5 years experience leading state and/or federally funded adult education and training programs and/or academic programming designed to serve the unique language acquisition and workforce needs of multilingual students.
  • Experience developing and leading educational teams and building community and connections in a remote environment as well as working in a fast-paced environment needed.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience developing and leading student success initiatives in alternative educational settings.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree or higher in Education, Curriculum Development, Public Administration or related area;
  • Previous experience in Massachusetts Adult Education system;
  • Previous experience teaching/working in a remote environment;
  • Previous experience with LACES data management system;
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace for Education applications and MS Office 365;
  • Background in an alternative education/higher education setting.
