Description
Callen-Lorde is seeking an experienced medical provider to join our team as a Medical Director to oversee clinical services. The Medical Director will collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO)in providing clinical and administrative leadership and vision to Callen-Lorde, particularly to the primary care service. The Medical Director is responsible for the professional, organizational, and administrative aspects of the quality of care provided to Callen-Lorde patients and operates within the framework of Callen-Lorde's mission and applicable city, state, and federal mandates at Callen-Lorde. The Medical Director will also provide direct clinical care to a panel of primary care patients including patients living with HIV.
These are a few general responsibilities of the role:
The Medical Director will participate in Medical Operations, working closely with other managers to facilitate improved interdepartmental processes and communication. They will additionally work with other site-specific leaders to ensure that clinical operations are optimized.
Supervise and evaluate Medical Provider staff in collaboration with Associate Medical Director.
Provide administrative and clinical direction to medical provider staff/volunteers, including recruitment and hiring of staff, orientation and training to new staff, and ongoing training/technical support as needed.
Provide quality, sensitive primary care on a part-time basis (5 sessions per week/1 session is 3.5 hours) according to pre-arranged schedules, documenting care promptly and following charting protocol and applicable NYS licensing requirements. This includes maintaining a panel of primary care patients.
In collaboration with the site's Health Center Director and Nursing Director, determine and measure general medicine clinical indicators for patients for the quality management plan and implement performance improvement projects around these indicators, as needed; participate in quality management and performance improvement efforts in conjunction with other managers.
Provide oversight and support to all medical services provided at the clinical site, including any grant-funded care, population-specific services, or educational programs such as fellowships or residencies.
Work Schedule/Salary/BenefitsCallen-Lorde is open Monday through Saturday. This is a full-time position that will require morning, afternoon, and evening hours. Qualifications
Licensed in the State of New York (NP/MD/DO).
Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Clinician.
Five-seven years of supervisory experience required.
Three-five years' part or full-time clinical experience in similar setting preferred
