POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for successful launch of the new solution from startup to operation and program management. It involves refining the commercial solution offer, operation and marketing initiatives, knowledge transfer and development SMEs across the organizations through the continuous launch experiences. The role will provide leadership to staff and be a primary contact to the client in coordination with the local program management at the launch. The Director will lead a launch team to proactively collaborate with local operation team and support services to define the scope of work, implement game plan and campaigns around key client drivers to ensure the successful launch of the new solution while meeting the proposal expectation and complying with government and regulatory requirements. This position is also responsible to provide launch feedback to all stakeholders for refinement of solution offering to be the best innovative differentiation in the market and efficient to operate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.- Define and lead the process to transition the new solution from concept to program startup to efficient program management ensure compliance with Department of Energy, State and other regulatory requirements, while differentiating value for the client
- Develop a comprehensive solution playbook for all employee levels. This playbook shall communicate the value proposition, scope of work, marketing tactics and factors for operational success with a unified voice for clients. It includes SMEs for support training and problem solving, operation manual, marketing and communication plan, federal/state contract and delivery guidelines and transition criteria to local program team, etc
- Continuously improve new solution designs and operations to maintain excellence or improves on KPIs, including customer satisfaction, energy savings and cost-effectiveness.
- Establish a governance process for any change or update to the solution playbook. Serve as the point of contact for updates and provide training/communications to all stakeholders on changes, their reasons and impacts to FES and clients
- Identify SME candidates, train and develop them to be the subject matter experts in new solutions
- Manage the launch strategies and budgets to optimize benefits, minimize risk and control outcomes across the portfolio.
- Ensure work is performed safely, ethically, within budget, according to client requirements and schedule and with exceptional quality.
- Prepare effective communications (e.g., memos, presentations, analysis) to support program policy changes, critical management decisions, corrective actions, or other key decisions.
- Maintain communication with leadership, escalating key issues in a timely manner to garner support, bringing insights, guidance and/or resources back to the program team as appropriate.
- Analyze contractual and financial performance and direct activities to improve performance.
- Provide leadership, support, and actively participate in relevant industry and stakeholder groups.
- Keep abreast of DOE guidelines and developments to ensure ongoing program compliance and success.
- Keep abreast of economic, policy and technology developments and changes related to energy and energy efficiency both locally and nationally.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Environmental Studies, etc. or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in Energy Efficiency, Energy Management, Sustainability, Program Management, or Demand Side Management Programs.
- Experience leading and managing a program team.
- Experience owning a large and complex program budget and P&L.
- Executive level communication and presentation skills.
- Contract negotiation experience.
- Financial management budgeting and reporting experience.
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar programs.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of Smartsheet and Power BI.
- Professional experience working with a wide variety of stakeholders, such as state, local and federal governments, for-profit and non-profit org
- Ability to clearly define, refine, train, and manage teams in the implementation of internal processes and controls associated with accounting, talent acquisition, professional development, contracting and compliance, work safety and financial reporting.
- Experience in building and leading a diverse, multidisciplinary teams successfully and build collaborative team culture through direct and indirect leadership. Demonstrated ability to develop and manage a complex strategic vision and translate its pursuit into actionable tactics, actions, and objectives.
