Job DetailsJob LocationThe Residence at Charles Meadow - Millis, MADescriptionSUMMARY:The Resident Care Director is responsible for the coordinating of resident care in order to ensure that the resident remains as independent as possible in the community. He/she assists the resident and his or her family members in maintaining the physical, psychosocial and emotional well-being of the resident. He/she acts as a liaison with appropriate healthcare personnel and community support systems to provide care to the resident and family.He/she will hire, evaluate, coordinate, monitor performance, schedule and supervise staff in accordance with LCB Senior Living policy. The Resident Care Director is also responsible for representing the residence to the community and creating and maintaining a culture that supports quality service and high customer satisfaction for the residents and a culture that promotes positive and fully engaged associates.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:The essential duties and responsibilities described below are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the basic functions of this position. Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co- workers and the surrounding community.2. As a department head you are expected to have an active role in growing community occupancy by representing and interacting positively with potential residents, family members and professionals.3. Assume the Administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the overall management of the Residence. Delegates administrative authority and responsibility for the day to day operations to personnel in charge when absent from the community.4. Ensures open and timely communication with associates, residents, families and LCB Senior Living regarding community operations and programs.5. Responsible for compliance with LCB Senior Livings Policies and Procedures, as well as laws, regulations and legal requirements governing the operation of the community.6. Develop and implement quality improvement process, strategic planning process and environmental safety program in order to maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents and guests.7. Manage a community outreach plan and liaison network with industry partners for the purposes of identifying and partnering with local service resources.8. Ensure associates are given the necessary resources to carry out their duties in an efficient economic manner.9. Maintains departmental budgets.10. Assure implementation of all operating and financial controls required under community and LCB Senior Living policy.11. Ensure proper planning and implantation of staff orientation and training.12. Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with all departments to assist in eliminating/correcting problem areas and overall improvement of services.13. Ensure completion of timely associate reviews.14. Ensure that counselling efforts, retraining and corrective action is administered fairly and in accordance with LCB Senior Living policies.15. With written physicians orders, administers topical and oral medications as well as ear and eye drops (LMA in Massachusetts), administers injectables where allowed by regulation.16. Ensure completion and review of incident/accident reports and implement changes through proper channels (i.e. Safety Committee, etc.) to minimize future issues. Ensure proper communication with LCB Senior Living and state compliance reporting.17. Prepare annual operating budget in conjunction with LCB Senior Living. Ensure communication of what resources are required to carry out programs and activities of the community.18. Review resident complaints and grievances and assure appropriate actions are taken. Discuss with residents and families as appropriate.19. Oversight of all record keeping functions within the facility, including those records which are necessary to disclose fully the services provided.20. Ensuring that all required staffing and schedules (if applicable), including backup coverage for staff is met at all times.21. Conducting and/or attending required in-service training and orientation, as per state regulations.22. The daily operation of the residence and providing the direction and leadership to Department Managers to ensure their success.23. Participation in the Manager-on-Duty Program.24. Other duties as requested.CT SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SALSA ARE AS FOLLOWS:1. Coordinates and manages all nursing and assisted living aide services rendered to clients by direct care staff under his/her supervision.2. Supervises assigned nursing personnel and assisted living aides in the delivery of nursing services and assistance with the provision of activities of daily living.3. Ensures the evaluation of the clinical competence of assigned nursing personnel and assisted living aides.4. Participates in or develops all agency objectives, standards of care, policies and procedures concerning nursing services and the provision of assistance with activities of daily living.5. Participates in direct service staff recruitment, selection, orientation and in-service education.6. Participates in program planning, budgeting and evaluating activities related to the clinical services provided by the agency.7. Planning for clients who shall no longer receive or require the services of the ALSA.8. Implementation or delegation of responsibility for the availability of nursing services on a twenty-four (24) hour basis.9. Provides weekly reports to the executive director regarding any problems associated with the provision of core services, or any problems or concerns associated with the managed residential community or the assisted living services agency, summaries of which shall be provided to the governing authority in accordance with the schedule established by the governing authority.10. Provides monthly reports to the service coordinator regarding statistical data including the number of clients served and services provided, summaries of which shall be provided to the governing authority in accordance with the schedule established by the governing authority.11. Oversees compliance with LCB quality initiatives and state regulatory compliance programQualificationsQUALIFICATION STANDARDS: (These qualifications meet or exceed NH, MA, CT and RI State specific requirements.)a. Computer Skills: Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets, database managers presentation software.b. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The ability to handle multiple priorities. Must be knowledgeable about care for seniors with dementia according to LCB Senior Living Policy, as well as current State and local standards. The ability to handle emergency situations calmly and completely is essential.c. Education: Licensed practical nurse or Registered Nurse licensed in the State they are practicing in. Connecticut requires either an RN with a baccalaureate degree in nursing and a minimum of (2) years full time equivalent clinical experience in nursing, at least (1) of which shall be in a home health care agency or community health program that included care of the sick at home; or a diploma or associates degree in nursing and at least (4) years full time or full time equivalent clinical experience in nursing within the past (10) years, at least (1) year of which shall be in a home health care agency or community health program that included care of the sick at home.d. Experience: Shall, at a minimum be at least 25 years of age and must have at least (2) years of demonstrated experience with caring for seniors and supervisory management skills.e. Certificates/Licenses: Certificates or education as required by State/Federal regulatory agencies, if applicable. Active nursing license in the state you are employed. Valid drivers license is required.
