The Director of Nursing (DON) will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Director of Nursing (DON) role requires a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting. The ideal Director of Nursing (DON) candidate will have strong leadership qualities, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to foster a positive and collaborative environment for both staff and residents.Benefits:- Paid time off- Full benefitsJob Qualifications:Education and Licensure:- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of NJ.- Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience:- At least 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.Knowledge and Skills:- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to assess, plan, and evaluate nursing care.- In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., CMS, state and federal guidelines).- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in complex clinical situations.- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare management software.Personal Attributes:- Compassionate, patient, and able to build trusting relationships with residents, families, and staff.- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.- A commitment to fostering a culture of quality, integrity, and respect.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Leadership and Management:- Lead and manage the nursing team, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and other support staff.- Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies and procedures in alignment with industry standards and regulations.- Ensure a safe and positive working environment, promoting teamwork and high standards of professional conduct.- Supervise and support nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care while adhering to facility protocols and regulatory requirements.- Clinical Oversight:- Oversee the clinical care of residents, ensuring care plans are developed and executed in accordance with best practices.- Conduct regular assessments of patient care, ensuring that care is tailored to individual needs and that all treatments, medications, and interventions are properly administered.- Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes to identify areas for improvement and lead quality improvement initiatives.- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding resident care and nursing practices.- Regulatory Compliance:- Stay up to date with local, state, and federal nursing regulations and ensure the facility is in compliance with all relevant laws, guidelines, and accreditation standards.- Lead surveys and audits conducted by regulatory agencies, including addressing deficiencies and implementing corrective actions.- Maintain accurate and thorough records related to patient care, staffing, and operational activities.- Staff Training and Development:- Provide ongoing education, training, and mentoring for nursing staff to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.- Promote continuing education opportunities and professional development for nursing staff, ensuring they maintain current licensure and certifications.- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and address staff performance issues as needed.- Communication and Collaboration:- Act as a liaison between nursing staff, medical providers, administration, and families to ensure seamless communication and high-quality care.- Participate in care planning meetings, interdisciplinary team meetings, and family conferences to support residents' health and wellbeing.- Respond to concerns and issues raised by residents and their families, offering support and resolution when necessary.- Budget and Resource Management:- Assist in managing the nursing department budget, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately for staffing, equipment, and supplies.- Optimize staffing levels to meet patient needs, maintaining efficiency while ensuring high-quality care.If you're a skilled and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity, we encourage you to apply!#DONNY
