The Killingworth team includes: psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, wellness coordinators, academic advisors, operations staff, kitchen staff, and more.*JOB SUMMARY*We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing whose leadership style reflects the Turnbridge core values and who will be accountable for coordinating client centered care. Responsible for performing and supervising all nursing duties and responsibilities including, but not limited to: nursing care plans, medication administration, and nursing assessments to teens. Collaborate with medical and clinical staff to provide quality treatment and care.*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of nursing care for residents as mandated by Federal and State regulations.* Develops and implements all care planning based on the client s individualized medical and nursing needs.* Maintains nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.* Maintains nursing operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.* Assures quality of care by developing and interpreting agency philosophies and standards of care; enforcing adherence to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations; measuring health outcomes against standards; making or recommending adjustments.* Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training nurses.* Completes client care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff; following up on work results.* Maintains nursing staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.* Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to clients and families.* Promotes client's independence by establishing client care goals; teaching and counseling client and family and reinforcing their understanding of disease, medications, and self-care skills.* Provides information to clients and health care team by answering questions and requests.* Resolves client needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.* Maintains safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from other health care professionals.* Protects clients and employees by developing and interpreting infection-control policies and protocols; enforcing medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.* Maintains client confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing.* Maintains documentation of client care services by auditing client and department records.* Maintains a cooperative relationship among care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.*SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS** Excellent communication skills to explain complex information in plain language* Experience working in the field of mental health, addiction treatment preferred.* Ability to work with people of various ethnic, cultural, and educational backgrounds* Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations* Sound technical, organizational, and priority setting nursing skills* Proven leadership skills*EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS** Registered Nurse (RN) a must, APRN preferred, with a current State of Connecticut license* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing* 2-3 years of nursing managementJob Type: Full-timePay: $105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceHealthcare setting:* Rehabilitation centerMedical specialties:* PsychiatrySchedule:* Monday to FridayExperience:* Supervising experience: 3 years (Required)License/Certification:* RN (Preferred)Work Location: In person
