Job Details
- Organizing, developing, and directing the overall operations of the Nursing Department in accordance with standards and facility guidelines
- Overseeing and evaluating all nursing personnel, including registered nurses and LPNs
- Guiding staffing procedures within the facility
- Setting objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department
- Developing and enforcing policies related to legal compliance and high-quality care
- Overseeing budgets and monitoring expenditures
- Being on call for emergencies
Skills You Need
- Current, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in NY and active CPR certification
- Extensive nursing home experience with some experience as a DON
- Previous supervisory experience in a nursing care facility preferred
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet navigation
- High level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality
