As the Director of Operations and Manager of Government Affairs in this association, you are the glue that binds C-level support, operations, HR, and government affairs-related daily and long-term tasks and projects. You are an extension of the leadership team and key player in facilitating government adjacent related tasks, such as budget oversight, event support, and complex meeting organization on the Hill. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in politics, understanding of Capitol Hill and high-level operational functions.
About the Job:
- Identify and recommend methods to enhance processes for efficiency, accuracy and costs, including but not limited to internal structure, internship program, employee personnel management, IT resources and support, and communications channels.
- Support leadership with scheduling, calendar management and administrative creation and finalization of documents, memos, slide decks, etc.; be a resource to others when leadership is out of the office.
- Manage office workflow and assist with daily operations.
- Direct point of contact with vendors, maintaining and building strong relationships with outside parties.
- Execute HR tasks, such as onboarding and offboarding, assist with general questions/resources for benefits, evaluation of performance checks and executing a positive workplace environment.
- Provide ongoing support, workflow management, and training and development to team members.
- Conduct research and execute special projects and events, such as holiday events, anniversary celebrations, employee engagement opportunities and ad hoc business processes and procedures.

- Experienced. You possess high-level Operations experience, preferably from Capitol Hill or similar environments!
- Project motivated. You are driven by your check-lists, even though they might change daily, you enjoy no two days the same and auditing processes for best efficiencies.
- Roll up your sleeves. This is an operational role requiring someone ready to work well with others and in “grey areas”.
- Articulate and accurate. It's essential that you possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer savvy. You can enjoy the process of identifying and implementing new software systems.
- Self-starter. You take the initiative and go the extra mile to move the needle.
