Job Title: Director of Operations Department: Uniform and Mat Production Operations Reports To: Company PresidentSUMMARY Directs and coordinates activities of Uniform production, Mat Production, Stockroom and Maintenance operations to ensure efficient product flow. The Director of Operations plays a critical role in leading by example to maintain positive culture, a safe working environment, continuous improvement, and teamwork throughout all production areas. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Participate in formulating and administering company policies, directing, and coordinating all production department activities to achieve and/or implement long-range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth targets. Participate and play an integral role in monthly & annual Leadership & Strategic long-term planning.
- Maintain accurate reporting and testing to ensure both city and industry certification adherence on an ongoing basis. Oversight of Production Manager, Stockroom Manager, Maintenance Manager, and team lead positions to maintain training and development of production co-workers.
- Assists in annual budgeting and detailed monthly P&L review, financial reporting with ownership of all production-related expenses and KPI performance.
- Works in conjunction with Service & Sales department leadership to support Plymate's customer retention and new business growth initiatives.
- Oversees high-level strategy and performance of Plymate's Corporate Apparel Division.
- Assists in and reinforces as necessary, all documented SOP's relating to the safe and effective operation of production equipment/workstations.
- Travel to/attend Industry training & networking events 2-3 times annually (2 nights typically)
- Uphold general working hours of 6:30am - 4pm M-TH; 7:00am - 1pm Friday.
Expectations:
- Understand the Bar-Code/RFID process and Plymate's route accounting system as it relates to scan data and garment tracking.
- Responsible for all staffing decisions for production & maintenance operations.
- To be recognized as the 'Quality Expert' within Plymate.
- Makes recommendations and is responsible for direct reports to complete quarterly coworker evaluations for all production areas.
- Makes analyses and recommendations of activities, costs, and operational flow to optimize throughput and profitability.
- Oversees and helps resolve operational and facility issues ensuring cost containment and minimalization/prevention of operational delays.
- Assists maintenance team in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues within the plant areas.

TECHNICAL SKILLS: Ability to use Microsoft Office 2000 Suite (specifically word and excel) at an 'experienced' level. This involves creating and/or maintaining Word and Excel documents at an acceptable level.
