About our client : Our client is a well-funded and high-growth Chicago real estate startup offering property management and brokerage services and investment opportunities. This is a great opportunity to get in early and make an impact!We are looking for an experienced Director of Operations to organize and oversee the daily customer service operations of the property management division. You will ensure that the property management business is well-coordinated and productive by managing its procedures and coaching its people. The area of responsibility for this role is wide and thus requires thorough knowledge of various company processes. The ideal candidate must be competent and able to plan many different kinds of operational activities. He/She must be an excellent leader who can discover the most efficient ways to run the business!Responsibilities:Management: Strategically lead and develop an operational management team to enhance performance by setting clear accountable performance measures. Identify and provide feedback through 1:1s, effective use of personal development plans, and provision of coaching & development opportunities.Reporting: Provide CEO/COO with detailed weekly information in single snapshot reports on financials, trends, business indicators, projects, etc. so they can make accurate directional decisions.Track: Use insights and analytics provided by AppFolio software to identify companywide improvements and present these to the Senior Stakeholder and Peers.Strategy/Analysis: The Operations Director will oversee all operational aspects of company strategy, help set strategic goals, and be responsible for the flow of operations information to the chief executive and the board.Liaise: Work closely with the Property Management team, internal and external stakeholders.Build: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that core operational functions achieve their business objectives.The successful candidate will possess the following:Extensive experience in managing operational customer service teams (prior real estate experience not needed).Strong strategic and customer focus with a clear understanding of the wider issues impacting the relevant markets.Proven management and/or relationship management experience at a senior, strategic level role.Established track record of exceeding targets, KPIs, etc.Intermediate English speaker (fluent is a plus).Outstanding communication and people skills.Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.Basic to intermediate knowledge in Excel required.Entrepreneurial and willing to work remotely.Strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.Ability to create structure in ambiguous situations and design effective processes.Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.Benefits: You will be part of a dynamic team and have the privilege to work for a company that is building the infrastructure of the future.
