We are seeking an ambitious and driven Director of Operations to oversee two exceptional properties, each with its own unique charm and appeal - Valcour Inn & Boathouse serves as a stunning wedding venue and bed-and-breakfast inn, while Twin Valleys is an outdoor education and recreational center.As Director of Operations, you'll ensure these locations run seamlessly, helping us deliver memorable experiences to every guest, every day. You'll be a self-starter with a passion for operational excellence, an eye for detail, and the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team. Your role includes selling our destination weddings to clients and overseeing our event portfolio. You will be a member of our leadership team and work for College Auxiliary Services, a nonprofit organization supporting SUNY Plattsburgh.Key Responsibilities:Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations at both properties, ensuring efficiency across all departments. Maintain all required licenses and permits, ensuring compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations. Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training for all staff members, fostering a culture of excellence and growth. Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and suppliers. Oversee security and maintenance needs, ensuring efficient operations and timely service agreements.Financial & Revenue Management: Develop and execute business plans and budgets in coordination with the Executive Director and Controller. Drive cost-effectiveness, profitability, and the achievement of financial targets through strategic adjustments. Lead sales and marketing initiatives, focusing on maximizing occupancy, weddings, and events.Event Management: Coordinate all aspects of weddings and events, from inquiries and tours to contract negotiation and event execution. Ensure events exceed client expectations by delivering high service standards and personalized touches. Provide on-site presence and support during events, promptly addressing any client needs or concerns. Guarantee effective staff coverage, adapting schedules to meet the demands of each event.Sales & Marketing: Cultivate new business opportunities and partnerships to drive revenue growth. Develop promotional materials, social media campaigns, and marketing initiatives to enhance each property's brand. Organize an in-house bridal show, attend trade shows, and engage in industry networking to increase visibility and attract clients.If you're a visionary leader with a passion for hospitality and a drive to make every guest experience unforgettable, we'd love to meet you! This position reports directly to the Executive Director. The successful candidate will be based at Valcour Inn & Boathouse and travel to campus or Twin Valleys as necessary. The role supervises several full-and-part-time employees across both properties. This role works Tuesday - Saturday.Required Qualifications:A minimum of 5-7 years experience in hotel, lodging or property management or another relevant area.Has a strong background in hospitality industry trends, sales and/or marketing, and supervisory responsibilities.Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.Proficient in Google Suite and Canva.Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or a related field.Property management experience to include knowledge of maintenance trades.Proficient in booking software, like Resnexus, Expedia and Airbnb.To apply, please submit your resume through Indeed and answer the screening questions.
