$100,000-$115,000 plus bonus, based on experience.Full benefits.Position Summary:Reporting directly to the Vice-President of Operations. The Director of Operations has responsibility for overall transportation performance and customer experience across the our delivery network. This Director will operate and lead an industry leading logistics team and operation designed for speed, efficiency and service that effectively optimizes the link between product supply and customer demand.The Director should have experience across multiple supply chain functions including transportation, logistics, fulfillment and network optimization. They will be a leader of people and teams, coordinating and collaborating with partners, functional leaders, carriers, 3PL providers, and customers.This individual will oversee the strategic and daily operations of the fleet, Truckload, Less-Than-Truckload, Intermodal, and related operations in the planning and execution of several hundred million dollars in freight spend. The Director participates in budgeting, performance and aggressive goal-setting for cost and service, and is responsible for operations and strategies to ensure that we meets committed KPI's and goals.Responsibilities:· Interface with customers in the identification and resolution of supply chain and logistics concerns in the day to day operations.· Strategic discussions with internal and external business partners in the planning and implementation of new networks or business initiatives.· Management and development of direct employees, guidance and mentorship in the daily operations.· Formal business reviews with customers regarding the maintenance and improvement of our transportation network.· Provide leadership and vision across the end-to-end supply chain to drive best-in-class performance for speed, quality, safety, efficiency, and overall customer service levels.· Leadership of a transportation strategy to develop new levels of operating performance, customer experience and collaboration.· Manage ongoing relationships with major customers to minimize costs and ensure highly competitive standards are being achieved.· Responsible for coordinating supply chain activities across the organization, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of product across the branch network, and providing a best-in-class customer experience.· Utilize activity-based metrics necessary to benchmark and drive performance.· Participate in leadership meetings and represent associate concerns, policies, and guidelines to the management team.· Establish a culture of continuous improvement and learning to drive thought leadership and high customer service levels, while driving to a low-cost operating model.· Ongoing analysis, assessment, and implementation of IT systems within the organization that will provide improved data analytics and meaningful business insights to improve planning capabilities and influence strategic growth decisions.· Hire, develop, train and retain a world-class and high-performing team.· Ensure the right people, processes, and systems are in place to effectively support the organization.· Develop, manage and deliver on operating and capital budgets.Ideal Experience:· Minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership positions in supply chain, logistics, or distribution.· Minimum of 5 years' experience managing a professional logistics staff.· Experience across multiple elements of logistics operations including all modes of transportation, fleet, distribution, ecommerce fulfillment and network optimization.· Experience managing multiple large Dedicated or Private Fleets.· Experience identifying and implementing new transportation process and systems.· Proven track record in a high volume, real time transaction business with companies well respected for efficient operations and a customer centric driven philosophy.· Critical Competencies for Success include expertise in Dedicated Fleet Operations, Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, and 3PL relationships.· Hands-on leader style with both vision and a strategic outlook to business.· Excellent communication skills that can effectively work with senior company leadership as well as the operations team.· Strong business and financial acumen.· Track record of talent development and planned succession.· Highly collaborative leader within large and matrix driven organizations.Education:· Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Business, Logistics, or similar discipline.
