Director of Operations – Telecom, Fiber, Broadband
Our client is a regulated non-profit utility company that provides safe, clean, and reliable energy services to better the lives of the people it serves. They are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operations to lead their Telecom, Fiber, and Broadband divisions. The successful candidate will oversee the construction, operation, and maintenance of their Carrier Class Fiber Optic Network, and drive the marketing, sales, and strategic development of these services.

Focus:
- Lead the overall operational strategies of our Telecom, Fiber, and Broadband services.
- Manage large-scale network construction projects, ensuring they meet quality standards and are completed on time and within budget.
- Oversee daily operations, maintenance activities, and the continuous improvement of operational processes.
- Develop and execute innovative marketing and sales strategies to enhance service penetration and customer satisfaction.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Foster strong relationships with government entities at the local, state, and federal levels to ensure compliance and secure funding opportunities.
- Prepare and manage the annual operations budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
Skill Set
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration required.
- An MBA or equivalent graduate degree is highly preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in senior or executive operational management within a major telecom, ISP, or similar organization.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the construction, operation, and maintenance of Carrier Class Fiber Optic Networks, including expertise in marketing, sales, and financial management.
- Proven track record of successful customer and vendor negotiations.
- Preferred experience in dealing with government relations at multiple levels.
- Fluency in both English and Navajo is advantageous.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
