Job Description

A top teaching hospital in Queens, NY, is hiring a Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department. The new Director will lead a team of oral and maxillofacial surgeons providing care in our oral and maxillofacial surgical clinics, inpatient units and addressing the clinical needs of the medical center and the community at large.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the residents
• Serve as a research mentor
• Oversee the administration of the department
• Ensure the program meets the needs of both the hospital, community and the residency program.
• Responsible for the daily operations of the department, including administrative functions, staffing and credentialing.
• Develop clinical protocols and performance improvement initiatives.
• Opportunity for a faculty appointment

Requirements:

• DDS or DMD degree
• Board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
• Valid New York State License
• DEA and Medicaid number
• Strong clinical abilities, teaching experience and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
