Join us as we pursue our vision of “Every Missourian empowered with the skills and education needed for success.”To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.Responsibilities:Manages the Outreach Team within the Office of Communications & OutreachOversees the department's outreach services and programs, such as Apply Missouri, FAFSA Frenzy, Decision Day, Journey to College K-8, and the Show-Me FAFSA ChallengeDevelops and implements new outreach activities and strategiesCreates and directs the department's strategic outreach plan and manages the outcomes of the Outreach Team staffCollaborates with the Strategic and Digital Communications teams to create and implement communication plans that support outreach effortsConducts presentations and workshops; assigns staff to set up displays, work college fairs and exhibit booths at various events throughout the stateManages the organization of special events, including annual Journey to College DayLeads the tracking of outreach activity data, written procedures, and office and department record retention guidelinesReviews Journey to College program outcomes and sets goals for each yearPromotes department resources and initiatives related to planning and paying for college, including FAFSA completion, Journey to College, Five to Thrive, Fast Track, financial literacy, and default preventionMaintains and cultivates strong professional relationships with collaborative partners through effective communication and by providing excellent customer service. Partners include Missouri school counselors and administrators, postsecondary institutions, college access organizations, and professional associationsAssists in reviewing and updating department publications, web content, resource manuals, PowerPoint presentations, newsletters, and videosDue to the nature of outreach events, this position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to occasionally work nights and weekendsComprehensive knowledge and skill in the use of methods and techniques of disseminating information to the publicAbility to plan, organize and complete complex assignments within given deadlinesDetail-oriented with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and staff at one time while also meeting deadlinesPerform other related work as assignedDemonstrate regular and reliable attendanceMinimum Requirements:Beneficial education and/or work-related experience includes technical or professional experience in communications, marketing, graphic design, journalism, art, or a related field.The State of Missouri offers an excellent benefits package that includes a defined pension plan, generous amounts of leave and holiday time, and eligibility for health insurance coverage.
