- Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage the Patient Financial Services team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Develop and implement departmental goals and objectives aligned with the organization's strategic plan.
- Serves as a subject-matter expert and may lead or facilitate task forces, teams, and/or workgroups to plan, implement and coordinate programs, services, and/or activities for the organization.
- Creates and modifies policies and procedures to address customer needs, compliance, efficiency, and internal control requirements.
- Demonstrates effective problem-solving and action planning skills to improve internal and external operations.
- Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA and billing practices.
- Stay updated on changes in healthcare laws and regulations that impact financial services.
- Revenue Cycle Oversight
- Identifies and measures key performance indicators to promote output, performance management, and organizational growth.
- Evaluates performance of staff by establishing objectives and providing constructive feedback on a regular basis.
- Oversee the revenue cycle process, including pre-registration, insurance verification, billing, and collections.
- Measures and improves customer service, operational effectiveness and financial outcomes.
- Financial Assistance Programs:
- Manage programs to assist patients with financial hardships, including charity care and payment plans.
- Develop policies to evaluate and implement financial assistance strategies
- Reporting and Performance Improvement
- Generates and maintains key performance indicators (KPI). Set goals and expectations for the KPIs. Report (at least monthly) on the status of all benchmarks vs goals and against industry best practice. Continually works on performance improvement measures that maintain or exceed key metrics to their benchmarks.
- Utilize data analytics to inform decision-making and improve financial outcomes.
- Conducts trend analysis on third party payer payment levels to ensure that reimbursement is in accordance with allowable amounts stated in agreements and contracts. Works with appropriate individuals to resolve discrepancies.
- Prepares monthly updates on the status of key performance measures for financial leadership.
- Develops and implements standard reports to provide pertinent information on the overall effectiveness of the medical services revenue cycle process.
- Collaboration:
- Works collaboratively with Hospital and Clinic Managers and other clinical staff to improve clinic specific medical services revenue cycle processes.
- Continuously monitors, evaluates, and makes recommendations regarding information technology requirements affecting the medical services revenue cycle process.
- Training and Development:
- Provide training and development opportunities for staff to enhance skills in patient billing and collections.
- Promote a patient-centered approach in all financial interactions.
- Evaluates performance of staff by establishing objectives and providing constructive feedback on a regular basis.
- Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate.

- A working knowledge in the areas of patient access, billing, coding, accounts receivable and cash management requirements, health insurance, business office operation, credentialing and Health Information Management (HIM).
- Demonstrated ability to be a team leader and have a proven track record of developing staff as well as succession planning.
- Ability to work under pressure and independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and interrelate well with individuals with diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds and needs.
- Skilled in leading change management to implement new and best practice approaches to business processes.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of health center operations with particular strength in patient flow/appointment scheduling/registration/encounter form processing.
- Must possess a working knowledge of patient accounting operations.

Education: Education Bachelor's Degree in Finance, HealthCare, Business or other related field of study. Licenses No professional license required. Experience 7-10 years related experience required or preferred, with at least 3 years in a leadership role Wage Range: The wage for this position starts at $60.00 and goes up based on experience.
