Job Description:

Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations - Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York.

Summary:

The Director of Pharmacy works under the direction of the VP of pharmacy and is responsible for strategic leadership of the local pharmacy services. The DOP evaluates the department compliance, establies P&Ps, and ensures ongoing quality improvement. The DOP collaborates with system and local leadership to ensure alignment of philosophy, goals, and vision.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all aspects of the budgeting process and develop statistical data (days, cases, los, o/p visits, etc.) to project revenues and expenses, consistent with the strategic plans of the organization.

2. Responsible for all aspects of personnel management including interviewing, and selection of staff, onboarding, training, mentoring, and retention, counseling and disciplinary actions.

3. Ensures the pharmacy complies with all federal, state, TJC and other regulatory standards

4. Rounds with employees and actively participates in hospital and department huddles to ensure open lines of communication.

5. Maintains active performance dashboards (quality, safety, operational, financial) and uses this data to guide the departments growth and development.

6. Actively participates in all committees and work groups to support the department, local and system wide improvements.

7 Precept FGY1 pharmacy residents and pharmacy school students in applicable practice setting

8 Performs other duties as assigned

Other information:

Doctor of Pharmacy or BS with 5yr in acute pharmacy practice; Licensed RPh in applicable state (NY or CT); 5 years experience in a leadership role; Preferred: MBA, DPLA
