Director of Philanthropy
Location: HYBRID - US-CA-Sacramento
Reports to: Senior Director of Philanthropy
Salary Range: $83k - $150k (based on experience)
MUST HAVES:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience, including direct mail, grant writing, and face-to-face fundraising.
- Proven track record of successful fundraising or similar accomplishments.
- Experience with event planning and management.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience.
Role Overview:
- Identify and cultivate potential donors within the hospital community.
- Solicit donations and maintain donor relationships through regular communication and recognition.
- Develop and maintain relationships with hospital-affiliated Shrine Centers and the local community.
- Approach the role with a mission-driven and community-minded attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership-Giving Program:- Build relationships with donors and corporations capable of giving $1,000 or more.
- Manage appeal schedules, create solicitation mailings, and handle event logistics.
- Work with third-party event fundraisers and visit groups, corporations, and foundations on behalf of the organization.
Operational Strategies:- Collaborate with the philanthropy team to increase prospective donors for major and annual campaigns, sponsorships, and foundation gifts.
- Reach out to donors for personal meetings, craft solicitation proposals, organize cultivation events, and actively solicit donations.
Stewardship Efforts:- Oversee donor recognition, special events, stewardship mailings, and annual impact reports for donors and funders.
Donor Management:- Manage assigned donors, track progress and results, and run necessary reports using the Blackbaud CRM database.
- Use the Classy peer-to-peer digital event management platform for donor communication and solicitation in partnership with the central office of philanthropy.
Support:- Provide staff support for fundraising committees and the Board of Governors.
